I’m taking notes, Bix:
Russian Mud
*Vallejo 73.802 Russian Splash Mud
*Mig pigment 3014 Russian Earth
Real Wood Crate
*secured...with embroidery yarn
*lightly stained with wash
*filled with magnetic strip and PVA glue
*raked over by a stainless wire brush
*press a pointed end of a file into the spots where a nail might be
*MiG Brown for German Dark Yellow (Mig 1000) wash

Looks great. I've built a few real wood boxes to put the many ammo drums that come with the Trumpeter tanks in, but I haven't painted and weathered them yet. I also picked up some wood PLA filament for the printer to try out. Just need to swap in a bigger nozzle to handle that filament before printing with it.

That indent for a nail with a touch of stain works wonders for wooden crates and blocks. Following along!

Oddly enough it’s the first time I have thought to do it ! For such a simple task, the effect is very good.

As do I when others build Herr Professor!
All the bits add up in the end.

Cheers Mr Tankme, the print universe is one I will never travel through which is a shame. I see printers as an extension of your imagination, but it requires a practical skill set I am lacking !

Last bit added.
Made a tarp out of a tea bag , painted, and soaked into place with a brush & clear sealer XF-86
No real reason other than to add a bit of colour difference to the green
Outside of a TC and metal tracks, I’m calling this done.
Thanks again to Mr Caster for the opportunity to complete this iconic battle wagon.
And a moment of reflection for the Uzbeki crew that fought within it back in the day.
Thanks for looking in

DetaIls like that realistically modeled tarp really set this tank apart. The build thread is as good as any I’ve seen especially the painting sequences. You’re top shelf, man.
