Re: 1/6 scale Universal Carrier suspension and road wheels
Happy to help mate, took a while to get them sent as I have been at work a lot more recently & the logistics reps at home lack a certain urgency when doing stuff on my behalf

Hi Alwyn, if you spot this, what size springs have you used?

Hi Wayne, it's 13.75mm of carbon steel from my usual supplier nickcwizardscx
With this stupid tablet it's a nightmare copying and pasting
Alwyn
Ps it's very warm in Tours, France.

Re: 1/6 scale Universal Carrier suspension and road wheels
I finally got all the bits required for the electronics and drive of the UC

I'm not using a tank control system, just a v-tail mixer as I don't need turret/guns/etc. I decided on an 11 volt Lipo battery for motivation with a 6 volt supply for the rx.
The v-tail mixer is the Mtroniks and the escs are just heavy duty standard chinese units

Just waiting for the motor brackets to fit it all into the chassis and test it.

Hi Alwyn, have a look on Thingiverse, there’s lots of motor mounts on there

Good call Wayne, I found a universal bracket design on there and modified it to make it adjustable!
For those interested here it is

Re: 1/6 scale Universal Carrier scratch build
Hi all,
A question for you knowledgeable people out there, I have in my spares drawer a Tamiya T01 DMD control unit, would it be man enough to drive a pair of RS540 geared motors in a 1/6 scale Alwyn universal carrier??
If not, what would you suggest?
Cheers
