after painting the tools and chipping i would spray one final Matt coat.

for the tool handles i paint them dark brown then a wash of what you put through the tank then a dry-brush of light brown, for the metal parts of the tools i use a mix of red brown and panzer Grey then a thin wash of the dark rust pastel thinned with some screen-wash and then rub the edges of the metal tools with a soft lead pencil....................cheers oz.

OZ,I'm still in the game.Had some log-in problems today but Matt got it straightened out for me.Also today purchased a better Airbrush compressor as the old one was not really for airbrush,the new one is just the ticket for the detailing we have talked about.My gun is a paasche double action so now I am set.I will post in a few days.Saxondog  And Steiner I'M sorry I did not respond but I'm going to try the pattern on the Panther411 b/w in my post but on a Tiger.Two shades of gray one of white.wish me luck.

the paasche is a great brush i use one myself, i was thinking about your winter camo and if you are gonna do it when you have the Grey camo and pastels on "THEN" gloss it over, it would be easier  to clean off any of the white gouache over-spray.

the way i do a winter camo is to add a little bit of brown (just a little bit) in with the white, then on top of that pure white this way it gives the white a bit of depth..............cheers oz.

Should anyone consider doing a Tunisian Tiger theme, let me point out that the red colored decals are wrong.  They were black with white outline and only for the 2 Kp. Tigers.  The 1 Kp. were white outline only.  501st in Tunisia is my Axis Specialty!

I'm looking forward to your paint scheme. Im busy on with the camo on mine, boy is there some work involved. wished I had picked a straight forward pattern LOL . Its giving me plenty of practice and more chances of ballsing it up    It certainly is a steep learning curve 

This has been a tremendous thread/tutorial from OZ and all credit to him for taking the time and effort to post this on here for all to share. What it has done is to make a great forum even greater

is correct in what he has said, i have seen a couple of Tunisian tigers with the red decals on which does kinda spoil the overall effect.........

I would have just been lost about the weathering with pastels,and the gray looks so good I would just stop if not for OZ,and this thread.Thanks for your time and trouble.Blake aka saxondog Pics to follow. P.S. I forgot to mention I have strip my hull and have decided to paint the whole Tank,I started with my spar turret and back hull panel.Well I'M doing it all except the asiatam lower section which is still undergoing mechanical changes,and still have not finished the rubber lined road wheels.I am taking photoes and will post  as parts dry,the following pictures show the hull primed and painted a week after the turret and I THINK I matched the gray pretty close,let me know what you guys think.SAX
