Slowly feeds the Oachkatzl.
Finally placed the two servos and now get the full range of motion. Gave the optics a coat of black primer before mounting and closing the turret.

When you start detailing you can't stop, right? Cut the compartment heater and needed a flat cover for that. Choices: single PU or double pewter piece? I went for the double from diorama parts. Nice cast texture for free. To much I would say. But Mr surface helps out again. For the girders I went with Tamiya ones. Gorgeous interwoven look. While I was at it, got another set of engine deck vents.

I think that's half of the beauty of working in 1:16; there's a lot of scope for surface detail (nuts, bolts, panels, texture) that don't come out as well at smaller scales. Of course, the other half is being able to fit all the mechanical stuff for R/C goodness.
I love what you've achieved with the Mr. Surfacer there, Soeren. The cast and rolled textures have turned out spectacularly; having that extra depth will really make the paintwork pop. Looking forward to seeing more!

Thank you Carl and Raminator. I always learn something new. And as Carl mentioned on his recent build: This forum and all your builds are fantastic inspiration. Can't repeat that often enough. I wouldn't have done anything like that hadn't I come across this board.
And yes, the build and the painting phase after that is what I enjoy in this hobby. The ability to run the is just an added bonus.
And as Mr Painless Wolf once wrote: it is up to us to go from a runner to a jeweled up shelf queen. We can have it all.
Speaking of details, this is what Dragon does in 1/35th scale. You can use these as a guide, at least this is how I do. Of course, all the added stuff is not perfectly accurate, so please keep your blueprints in your pockets
Getting back to Mr Surfacer. It took me some time to finally order the leveling thinner. Had the Surfacer here for months but couldn't use it because no chance to rework it or clean brushes. Now I got a hang to it and gonna use it anywhere. It is great fun to work with. Should have started earlier and bring it to use on the Jagdpanther. That would have helped very much. The same is true for the Revell putty. You can see that on the engine hatch. Works good and is better suited for larger area filling than Valley putty.
The surface was mostly sanded with my angle grinder, files, sandpaper. Each little scratch then covered by Mr Surfacer adds to this interesting texture. It is too rough in some areas. But this is part of my artistic license in this build. It turned out really great on the turret now with paint on and I will try to reproduce it in the hull roof as well.
Now enough of my Sunday morning talk. Have a nice day.

The back deck details are finally done. For those strips. I did them with .5mm styrene. Better would have been .3mm PE fret. Just for the next time.

Beautiful detail!! One note, it is possible that the rear deck drain pipes are on both sides depending on variant. Not 100% sure...
