YHR wrote: I found RCU and a lot of helpful people.  Their input improved my modeling experience.  I build tanks, I post pictures of tanks, and I help when I can.  With no other agenda then that ,I have never once been approached by an RCU mod.  I have been around forums for a long time, since the old days compuserve.  THis kind of thing happens all the time, it is the nature of this media.  A bunch of factions split off, and then you spend more time flopping between forums then building or posting anything.  You guys had your reasons to leave and you did.  THe RCU forum become less without you.  Too bad people can't get along

Not sure how this thread advances the hobby or my modeling skills.  We got a good thing going here, not sure why it is necessary to open up old wounds, and stir up a bunch of resentment.  RCU and the people who post there are great.  I have had very few issues.  You learn to judge people by their text and nothing could be easier then ignoring people on an internet forum.  I do that when I need to.  Much like I should have ignored this thread!!!!!

This thread has not advanced my state of modeling one bit, unless of course my hobby was axe grinding!!!!! ;D

Peace, Cheers and all that stuff.

Well got to go to bat here one more time for this forum and also Matt-- ;D ;D

I think we can all agree that the little joke about RCU being automaticly changed to "the other nasty forum" turned out to be a pain in several ways and was now corrected.A lot of us here do like a good joke, this one just turned out wrong from what was intended. ::) ::)

I for one have never been fond of the practice of "quoting pieces of a post ".In the whole post as written it may mean one thing, but on it's own can be interpited in a total different way.

We all have our own opinions and can post them here if they stay within reason and are not totally just to be mean or to start a fight with a member. The topic of the thread was "have i missed something"---Rather easy to wonder what it was going to contain and a lot of members looked in to see what it was about. At that point there were several options---read what was written--hit the back button--or join in and have your say---- ;D

In the above piece I have "quoted",making your stated opinion about your thoughts on RCU was just fine. You can even state your likes or diss-likes about this forum. The topic had nothing to do with anyone's hobby's or advancing someone's skill levels,it wasn't ment to.The subject was what had happened to various members who were members
(or ex-members for one reason or other) on RCU.We may or may-not like what was said, but the point is each member has the right to express their story or opinion. It allways troubles me when someone insinuates or flat out says I don't like this subject and it should not have been posted here.Thats what the "back button" is for.If no one likes what is posted it will get no replys and will soon end up on the back pages----- ::) ::) ::)

It is no secret that a lot of us here "are" or "were" members of not only RCU but also other hobby forums. We have the right to disscuss any forum we choose good or bad.If you post something that is not true about a forum I'm most certin someone will let you about your error------ ;D  ;D  A lot of us here were "guilty" of asking other members on RCU to come over and also be a member here on RCTankWarfare and look it over. That is what got most of this all started. You want to ask someone here to join another forum,go ahead---it will not get you "banned" here.
RCU is all about making money----don't know if that was why it was started--but thats the way it is,and every new member is dollar signs to that forum-----and they don't like any compatition---------PERIOD---The sad part is the forum has turned into a place for various vendors to sell and promote there products and loosing focus of the "hobbies"
that most guys went there to injoy.I hope that don't happen here, there is a place for vendors and that is what they should be using.

Reading what has been written on my last look here on page (4) where some of this was directed directly "to" MATT
about digging a hole for himself----------------WHAT-------I would love to see you go on RCU and make that statement to-------------RC KEN----------That would be pulled so fast it would make your eyes swim, followed by a nasty e-mail-----------and more than likely being banned-------

Matt has done a hell of a job here forming this forum and getting it rolling.

very true Bigmig

its a shame when a venting post/thread turns into a slanging match between members which really shouldnt need too

the post started as a why have they done this? post and im sure the original poster wishes he hadnt bothered

at least some of the Q&A have popped out of this after all

Matt asked my opinion on locking and removing this thread and we came to the agreement not to bother as it would only make us more like the forum we hoped not to be like so we opted not to

whether this is right or wrong i dont know but at least its still here for all to see and make up there own minds
something not afforded to the majority on RCU

and as i told YHR a mod is only a pm away so please contact any one of us if you disagree/dont like what you see and we will resolve the situation to the best of our abilities and with the least harm done

and i would ask all concerned to step back off the plate take a deep breath and move forward with building tanks and having fun with what we do

Kind Regards rob
