Edit - Ignore all of this waffle for now, I will have a bog standard T90 to look at in a couple of days, which should enable me to see what is what.
I have been revisiting this little adventure. If anyone has figured out the wiring since Hermans post please jump in.
First of all there are differences as we know between the old 2.4ghz and the T90 version, which is in all of the new tanks apparently.
The clue is on the case.
The 8 pin on the old one is marked Turn, Lift, Shoot, Lamp.
The 8 pin on the new one is marked Lift, Turn, Shoot, Lamp.
The new hull mounted multi plug socket is different too. If you look on the back, the circuit trace for pins 5 & 6 are merged. This means a shared circuit.
On the old one it was:
1. Rotate +
2 Rotate -
3. Airsoft -
4. Elevation -
5. Airsoft and Elevation shared +
6. Machine Gun -
7. Lights -
8, Machine Gun and Lights +
On the new one it is:
1. Elevation +
2. Elevation -
3. Rotate +
4. Rotate -
5. Airsoft ??
6. Machine Gun - ??
7. Lights - ??
8. Machine Gun and Lights + ??
The airsoft needs the 5 pin plug in CN3. It is pins 4 & 5 (on the right) that complete the circuit for the airsoft, gun sound, and track recoil.
If you remove the airsoft and still want the gun sound, then twist pins 4 & 5 together.
I am trying to figure what merging the pcb trace on the back of the hull pcb achieves.
I am also trying to figure out whether pin 5 is airsoft + or -, and which pin supplies the opposing + or -. I am guessing it is the elevation as with the old one, or is it something to do with the merged trace on 5 & 6.
Actually just had a thought...when I did the Arduino project I was getting an airsoft pulse on 2 & 5, so that must be - on pin 2 (shared with the elevation), and + on pin 5.
If I can figure it all out I'll post a wiring diagram. I wish I had the foresight to run a multimeter over it before I pulled it out of the T90!!
If anyone can tell me whether the left stick moves the barrel with up for up and down for down, that would be appreciated, or is it the same as the old one??
