After watching the match with Anzio..I just had to have it :haha: ...the price is rather daunting...for a small kit I thought...
but what a great kit...even has a photo etch sheet included that will probably make me go blind :shh:

Kiaser wrote:How many shares do you have in these companies :D well that is the first shelf completed 8O ....... :haha: :haha: .
LOL ...I wish...what modellers are paying for these kits is CRAZY :crazy: ....That Italian baby tank under the GUP banner is almost 90 dollars US shipped :O ..without the GUP banner around 50...most of the kits hover around there ...lucky I got that one on someones auction paid about a third of what others are selling for...Pros and Cons though...I'd be a little worried about being a stock holder in any model company....as generations pass ...there seems to be less interest in actually building things ....every one wants "toys"...ready to go...doesn't even have to be die cast
With that said..it wouldn't be a bad idea to invest in companies that produce Plastic :haha: ...as I figure at least 30% of models built are poorly done...and the guy might want to have another go at it ...so might buy another...maybe two :D

Funny you mention shelves...Might have to add an addition just for these research tanks :wtf:

Overall..not a bad model...it does have a few fit issues but with a little sanding that's easily resolved...assembly of the main components went really fast...installing all the little details is what took time...mostly because some mistakes were made by the manufacturer

Image
The hatch position had to be corrected ....the way the mold placed it was side to side...with it opening to the right of the tank...checked a few photos I have on hand ..and the hatch is mounted in a more slanted manner...cleaned that up...but it did take time as the cupola is two piece ....also the box on the side...the mold did not have the straps going completely around the box...just a few straps on the front...even visually it looked bad
Image
Decent molding on this box...the holes went right through...thing is there were mold indentations on the side that the holes were the largest....I tried to sand them flat with out any luck...so I had to use the opposite side and ream the smaller holes out...also the Light/Horn is not included in the kit...so some fabrication was needed
Also according to the Box art and instructions ...the main gun goes in upside down...had to do research for the research model to clear that up :lolno:

The wheels all move...so does the suspension...this would be a great model to attempt RCing :D Lots of room inside ...and the upper hull is made to reveal the interior ...which I didn't install ;) ...I did fabricate a hook type lock for the body so it wouldn't come apart when handling ...that area turned out really clean...you can't tell that the hull is not glued in place...that's due to the manufacturer ...reason I am pleased with the model :D

Ratings (5 star max)

Ease of assembly 3 stars...would be higher if there weren't so many corrections to be made
Plastic quality 5 stars
Casting 4 stars...there was some flash...some over casting ...and some parts were difficult to remove from the sprue
Fit 4 stars
Eye strain 5++++++++++++++++++++ stars
OCD level Not bad at all ...it was rather a relaxing build
