Good afternoon,
What Alpha said. Back in 2014, I built a 1/72 scale KV-2 as a research tank to see what certain paint would look like. I quickly learned to build the 1/35 kits for research ( if at all ) and buy the pre-assembled 1/72 diecast versions and just repaint if there were multiple paint schemes to try. Your Pz IV paint is really striking and is another great example of what can be achieved with a rattlecan and a brush.
regards,
Painless

8O 1/72nd??????????????? Is there enough detail that can be seen? :O

I forgot to say Arnie...that pattern is one of my favorites...when I did dioramas...put it on many a tank ...You are doing an excellent job of it...those strokes aren't easy in this scale

I tried my hands at 1/72 once. Too tiny and fiddly for my taste.
Research tank... You make a smaller scale of your intended tank, to test out camo and technicues on it??

And one thing is certain. I have no intention of trying this camo scheme again! Sooooo many wigly lines! That being said, I really love this scheme, so I had to do it :D
Almost done and pics will follow later today ;)

Good Morning, Arnie and Alpha,
Just a few Pics to show the 1/72, 1/35 and 1/24 versions of the various paints I considered. It's a great process, building and painting smaller scale models of the piece you are going to do in 1/16 or larger. Gives you an idea of how the tank goes together and how it will look when completed.
regards,
Painless

YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :O ...I'll definitely not ever buy or use a 1/72 for research!!!!!!!!!! 8O ...the tiny ones are cool Painless...but I really can't see all that much detail on them :'(

They look great for board War Gaming though :D ...perfect for Axis and Allies ...they used to have Roco sized Shermans and Panthers

Alpha-Matic,
Apologies, Arnie for a bit of thread hi-jacking. There are a lot of builders who work exclusively in 1/72 with PE add-ons and the works. Like Alpha, I wish them all the best and reserve the small scale stuff to test paint schemes.

DNAR like you Painless...must still have good eyes :D ...I already have to rest mine when doing the 1/35s ....I really can't imagine every going back to 1/48 or smaller again :'(

And Yes Arnie...Apologies for the brief interruption of your work in progress

Ha! That is actually quite brilliant Painless :D

I could always test paintschemes and weathering on my Warhammer tanks maybe :P

Anyway. The camo is done!!
Think thats the most time I have ever spent painting camo on a tank hehe

Then "all" I have left to do is detailing, washing and weathering!
