Haven't said much on your build...mostly because when I do come in for a view... it is above and beyond the normal...what I am truly surprised is that Sire Canned of Shermans hasn't come and put his personal stamp of approval on the result ...it is truly an outstanding build...but I'm sure you knew that already

Nice Machine Tom Carbon? ....all the top line products on that baby... Mine is a lot older a Cannondale 2.4 frame... and a mix of Suntour and Shimano bits.... never made the switch to handlebar shifters..bought some...took them off after my first outing .... found them irritating when descending ... though it is said when ascending by the time you reach the top of the hill you should be in a high gear....I was usually in a mid gear... and preferred dumping the derrailleur before going down ...so I still run indexed frame shifters on mine...I still run old 7 speed cluster in the back... 12 on the high... 21on the low... 53/ 42 on the front ...pretty simple machine... weighs in at about 21lbs

I like the beefy Crank you have... Campy? ... but I really haven't shopped for parts in a long time... but it does resemble their design

Not up to Tour Standards? ... pretty darn close I would say...bet she weighs less than 20 lbs ..the Tour's bottom limit is what 18? not that far and probably very competitive if you have C record lungs and Dura Ace legs

Hey alpha, full carbon indeed. Running ultegra shifters, front and rear mech and 105 cranks and brakes. It weighs 18.5lbs so it's pretty light! My old alu race was slightly lighter but the carbon frames much stiffer. Unfortunately the human engine (me) is what let's it down! I need to get put more on it.

I've not tried frame shifters as my last three bikes have had them on the bars. I know what you mean about them, don't like shifting up on a standing climb when your really going for it!

Yeah it's the same with me.... just not enough motor power lol....loved to do criteriums ... had a good sprint... long road races really taxed my endurance..
but Man I cannot believe those are 105 components.... they look way improved from my day...though at the time I did like the dual pivot design on the brakes... they were really strong going downhill... Never got into the carbon frames myself... I tried it back then when Kestrel and Trek pretty much lead the pack with carbon... didn't care for them... as I could actually feel the frame twist when I hammered the peddles ...found Cannondale to be the stiffest of the lot ... now their frames are much lighter below 2 lbs .... But I can see why yours is stiff too... those short chain stays really hug the seat tube.... How is she on long rides?...Other riders used to hate the Cannondale because of their short chain stays and stiff frames... but it never really bothered me... as in the long run I could climb coast and corner faster than most bikes back then

I actually didn't mind climbing with the levered shifters...as it wasn't really a problem going to a low gear click by click...problem for me was bringing the front back up to high.. and dumping the back into high as well... I'm not sure if Shimano improved the design...but back then it was a cog by cog deal... and the shift movement to bring the front up was annoyingly long....almost had to remove my hand to get the full stroke before it would gear up...suffice to say...after one ride up one of the toughest hills here... I took them off...tossing them aside and reinstalled my frame shifters ....way faster IMO... they don't look as trick... but they work... the best thing is they are a tad lighter to boot

Thing is the trend now is those lever shifters... I would hope the companies made improvements since I rode competitively ...but I'll stick with my frame mounts ...with that said though... I like the twist grips on mountain bikes
