Hi, beeen looking through your Abrams HA build you did.
In one section on page 7 you installed the Henntec Idler system. It appears you had a solid Idler axle from HL that came with the tank.
How did you remove the solid Idler axle? I am at that step and want ed to installl the Henntec Idler system as well.
Thanks.
Eric.

Hi Folks,
Well I've finally completed the last major construction hurdle. It still has some detail work needed but the big part is done!
Here are the pics of the Commander's Gun Station TUSK Armor including the M4/M16 mount and the mounting bracket for the Spot Light.
Thanks for looking in,
Barry

What to do when you need 60 "hat" shape lift grabs?
Step one make a male & female stamping mold. Next anneal enough .015" brass wire and bend 60 1/8"dia. 1/2 circles and start forming.
Here are the pieces I fabricated for the forming tool and how they fit together. It consist of a base/holder the female form and the male anvil and a cover out that encloses the female form.
Next insert the 1/2 circle into the tool followed by the male anvil. I tapped the anvil into the form with several solid but measured taps.
Then out pops a consistently formed grab. Now to form another 60 + "spares"!
Next I created a tool to locate the drill locations and drilled 120 #79 holes.
Voila!!! I think they turned out pretty well
TAFN,
Barry

A male alien that encloses a female form is likely headed for trouble!!!
I had been noodling on the problem for quite some time. I had determined that forming them in this method was likely the best option but I was not sure I could make the tool work.
The tool design finally used is the third iteration. The first failed after about a dozen operations. The second worked but the grabs were too wide to properly fit. So I made another set of the forms to fit and got the needed results!
