Here is something I spotted that looks to resolve the dreaded dual z-axis servo misalignment

The misalignment can catch you out if the z-axis servos get out out synch. The result is a a z-axis bar that is not parallel to the print bed with resulting bad prints, and that is a nightmare if you are doing a big print. By using the levelling blocks at the start of each print you can quickly make sure that the servos are correctly set and synched and the print starts out correctly.

It isn't necessary to buy the stls as it shouldn't be a problem to whip up a design for the level blocks or even cut them from a piece of scrap wood or whatever you have handy.

I wasn’t sure on the printer make to start with but it appears to be an annet a8 capable of larger prints up to about 320mm maybe a little more but not much.

To me at the moment that means nothing.

Anyone shed any light on the brand?

Everyone has their favourite printer brand, I started out with a couple of Anet A8’s & they did the job at the time, they have their limitations though, speed, accuracy, noise & it was virtually impossible to change filament mid print, I’ve no idea how they have developed over the years though.
I’ve moved on to Creality machines though now. I have 3 x Ender 3’s, a CR10 S4 and a CR10 S5 for the larger prints.
I’ve also been given a dual extruder thing, the brand name escapes me, it was bought for £900 during the COVID mask crisis & the guy couldn’t get it to work, I’ll have a play with it when I get time.
Wish you’d asked here before spending your money though.

Good support and plenty videos out there to help setup and diagnose problems if there are any
Very good machines, the latest gen ones are superb
I wouldn't buy anything else at the moment, Creality is the way to go

Hi I like my CR10 works well even if it dose go wrong easy to fix and set up.Only mod i have done is print bigger bed leveling knobs so its easy to level bed.

To be fair 65 quid for a working printer I can’t complain, as needs progress I’m sure I will buy a better one but for now. I think it will do as a place to start

I don’t plan on doing. It’s just a cheap printer to learn on. Once my skills develop I will likely replace it
