Just a thought. Rob's big gun is actually a British artillery piece. British truck markings would give you another option.

After serving in the artillery reserve's for 18 years I am more than happy to give that a go:)

Talking of artillery, this is the loader from the crew of a PAK 40 that I'm building. He would work perfectly well as a British artilleryman, if painted appropriately. I'm hoping someone may get inspired and produce or find one of more figures like this.

I fully agree. The amount of British figures available is even less than american!

I have probably just done something very foolish. I have purchased a set of 6 1/18 figures to act as an artillery crew for Rob's big gun. Sounds good until I tell you they are actually an F1 pit crew  It will test my modelling skills to the absolute limit and beyond to carry out the necessary modifications. But what the hell. You only live once. :haha:

What I shall need are 6 1/18 scale British army helmets (Big hint, Rob), preferably hollow on the inside.

Along with the Dr Who figure, Rob gave me a selection of 3D printed heads. I have to be honest, I found it difficult getting rid of the printing layers. It is far from being some of my best work, but this is how one of them finished up. He should be OK sticking his head up through a driver's hatch or similar, I think.

Nice, can you paint an artillery cap badge?

Don't know, I never tried. It might be a bit tricky at 1/16 scale. I seem to recall it's a Napoleonic cannon surrounded by a wreath, with the motto Ubique.
