Ken,

The tracks are heng long, but don't appear to fit the asiatam sprockets to well (unless it needs a bit of running in) so don't know if I keep them on.

Thanks Ian,
I was running Mato track on mine they were riding up over the teeth om the sprocket so I changed back to the plastic sprockets and tracks till I sort it, One thing I did notice and I am yet to check it out is the Asiatam sprockets look very close to my Tamiya KV 1 sprockets so over the week end I am going to see if my Tamiya tracks fit the Asiatam sprockets so I will let you know if I have any luck.
Cheers Ken

Tonight I thought I change the motors to some Graupner 400 speed 6v I had.

Fitted some 10T 48 pitch pinions but for some reason they make a right noise when installed. >:< Further more I think the tank is now slower than before with the standard Asiatam motors :eh:

So think tonight was a waste of time as going to have to put it back to how it was. :'(

Well it's been a few weeks since i've done anything on my KV. Basically been waiting on Tank Modellbau 76.2mm KwK barrel to be made and shipped. And today it arrived. :D

Image

Just look at that baby 8)

But hang on it's suppose to fit the HL recoil unit so why?

Image

No instructions either so my best guess is I need to cut doen the HL tube and push the two together. Anyone else installed one of these?

Also got some plastic tracks at same time which look like their stop the tracks riding up on the drive sprocket. :D

Any way next job is to mod the recoil so worked right.

Hi Ian , Is the modelbau barrel for the HL ? * the recoiling barrel you already have is the longest available - to correct the length , it only needs to be set further out of the mantle  .
to the bouncy room ! Yay !

Morning Blimp, wow your was up late or early 8O

Yes it is for the HL and the HL recoil it is the one Welsh Dragon Model sells. It fits quite snuggly in the HL barrel so thinking more and more I need to cut the HL barrel and push this onto it with a bit of super glue.

So Oracle of KV1 how far out from the mantlet should the barrel be?

Yep I was right Steve just sent me the instructions which confirms got to cut the HL one and glue together.

Problem is instructions are in german and even though translated, it says expand tube then cut 10mm from end of HL recoil. Expand forward or backwards?
