Your doing a great job Blimp. I know I would of given up and thrown it in the bin a long time ago.

Plus even if you didn't change the weld lines i'm sure apart from you nobody would be any wiser.

I dug out an old set (which everyone has a dozen or three of , don't they boyz 'n girls ) It had a cracked gimble post , giving a very floppy stick , hence it's replacement ;D
. . . That's my excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it - anyhow the whole gimble assembly was removed and swopped over - Bingo ! All working now , as well as an HL TX ever does . . . Thanks mate , I owe you one .

Just in case anyone wondering , it isn't actually a potentomiter , it's a 3 phase pcb switch , i'd already looked at it , checked the soldered joints , switchplate arms for contact , made sure the little retaining screw was tight etc , It checked out ok .
Still it managed to get me going for a bit - the fact that it did the same thing on my other tank was the clue , well spotted , C .

Excellent , Perhaps a post in the electronics section as well. It will be hard in a few months for members to trace it back to this build thread.

Certainly worth noting,and posting.

:D Getting to the last bits now , folks . A horn bracket from brass strip , fusewire ' loom ' and the over thick mudguards to be addressed - with 2mm to play with it's easy to add a little derangement , just a bit of care was needed not to reduce the top edges too much , or else the fine rivet detail will be lost ( I'll trim the toolbox lower edge here , so that it follows the new ' bend ' ) . . . Image
  • . . . All thats left to do now is wait for a break in the weather , so that I can fire up the compressor - the shed is too cold and damp at the mo . Never mind , I'll add a little dirt texture while I wait . . . .
. . . Then back to my Tiggy !

yay ! Some clear skies at the weekend and an hour to spare has allowed me to shoot the first , basic coat of paint . About time too , I'm getting fed up with it looking like a taylors dummy .

. . but I havn't been idle , oh no , instead of twiddling my thumbs I decided a 1939 'round' turret with F-32 gun would be nice . . .

. . . This baby will be armed with I.R. , so watch out panzerboyz ;D

Love your work, great thread.
What books are you using to get all this info on the kv1's, I am planning on building one of these.
