Mine too has arrived and I wasn’t expecting anything amazing for the price. But when I opened the box I was quite surprised.

I have had a look at the workings with out stripping it down and best I can tell it’s servo recoil, it seems to be a small motor or a servo traverse. Working mg working lights I could support putting a crew in there. There is a small board in the turret that look like it could support a battle system. Rubber tyres working sprung suspension and idler. Track adjusters.

So for 100 pounds I’m impressed with what has turned up

Oh, thanks a lot! You guys are making the wait worse! Mine is just out the country of origin door, anticipated for June 12. When I was a youngster, I never was particularly excited or eager for Christmas. Now I'm a 70-year-old kid!

Most definitely. I'm hearing something tiny rattling around inside. My recoil isn't working and through the turret hatches I can see a screw is missing for the servo to gun barrel arm. I think I know what the rattling is!

Instructions for the radio, while good, are a bit confusing with the terminology used in spots, but we shall prevail!

We are all itching for a look inside. That rattling little something and non functional recoil should give you the moxie to get the "first look" at the innards for the rest of us. Hint, hint.

Yes it does! Looks like it has the dreaded HL Tiger 1 upper to lower attachment system. Two screws at the back have exposed access, the other 4 that I can see are above the tracks going into the upper sponsons. @#$%&

Batteries are in and a bit of testing done. This thang is fast, even on 'simulation" as opposed to the "fast" setting. A bit like my old stock HL PzIII. Gun elevation is ok, but the gun always returns to the mid-elevation position. Hopefully something in the fine print of the manual will remedy that.

The "voice" setting switch has three positions and the manual says various tank sounds, but so far I'm getting only one sound type despite switch position. I'm going to say operator error as I was a bit distracted, and I get the feeling that the transmitter is very sensitive to being set up in exactly the right sequence. It'll be fun exploring this tank and using a new system.

Also only getting two sound volumes--off and very low. More exploration needed there, but I will say the engine sounds seemed pretty good, and definitely not the generic HL Tiger/Panther/Pz/KV one size fits all sound set.

A couple of days of cottage time coming so Mr Stuart just might make the car ride. Gotta find something to do after the late day swim and beers and BBQ. Or maybe that's not so wise!

Mike.

Please do keep us informed as to transmitter settings. Somewhere here on RCTW I put up what for me is a much easier sheet of instructions for transformer settings on the newer HengLong tanks. Now I cannot find it nor can it find it on my computer. Whatsamadderwithme?

I don’t like the system at all after testing, you can lock the gun in what ever position you put it in. It’s way to fast but it’s does recoil. Mine will likely be swapped to a Clark’s if it fits

I had enough problems getting it to switch on and work. Once it's on it's very quick, and not so much superspin as drift when cornering.

Not sure it's a normal twin motor & gear box set up so swapping out the electronics might not be quite as simple as for the other tanks.
