Receipt of pre-ordered deliveries are happening as we speak. And from what I'm seeing being shared I just may need one of these. Just wish shipping wasn't $85 from Germany. I sent an email to MotionRC U.S. asking if they plan to stock and sell them. $ub $300 and I'd more interested but it does have some cool details and features.

If you absolutely have to have it now, you can order from ZandaToys in Cali. I've ordered from them before. Caveat: they are typically slow to ship, but I've always gotten what I ordered from them. They have an Ebay store and a webstore, but the Ebay price is like $50 higher than than the webstore price.

Cheapest option was $10 cheaper for USPS ground.

Good to hear that someone has actually ordered from Zanda. I'm totally turned off by their ridiculous inflated prices. Funny you say they are slow to ship since they tack on $30 for shipping in the states on Top of their already high prices.

Even with the conversion rate and 19% VAT before I'd ask them to remove, it would be $318.76 USD from Torro de...I'm guessing Motion would likely charge around $350.

Today I received my pre-ordered 251 in grey.
Although this color is not period correct for this Ausf.-D, I didn‘t mind!
It just fits perfect into my Ostfront collection.
The grey color comes very close to the Tamiya German Grey, which is way much better than that blue/grey from Heng Long.
The SdKfz 251 is a very nice model, easy to control and can be driven very smooth.
Sound is okay to me, as long as the vehicle is driving. When you stop driving the sound gets real loud, but as soon as you start driving again it is very nice!
All hatches and vision blocks can be opened.
Lights can be turned on and off.
Only thing I actually will try to change is the slack of the tracks. They are a bit too tight.
It can be done, a forum member on de German Heng Long Panzer Forum did it in some way, must look into it to figure out what he did.

The tracks on this Halbkette are a bit tight, would have looked better when they had some slack.
A member on the German Forum did a rebuild of this vehicle, and he changed the way the idlers are attached to the chassis.
So I took the bottom part off to get to the swingarms.
Next I unscrewed the idlers and than a square part shows up which you can turn so the idler can be moved up/downwards.
In this pic you see how tight the tracks are mounted: In the next one you see how it looks when you turn the idlers: As you can see this looks better now, more like the way it should.
But after I posted this on the German Forum, the guy who did that rebuild I mentioned before, replied that with the loosened tracks driving indoors is no issue at all.
But when driving outdoors the tracks are thrown off in curves when there gets some resistance on the tracks.
So I will take it apart again and put it back together the way it was, with the tighter tracks.
And, I think on this darker grey model, the tight tracks are not that obvious compared to the models with the lighter colors.
But for the guys who only drive indoors on their carpets or wooden floors, this repositioning of the idlers, could be an option anyway for optical reasons!

As announced, Torro has raised the prices for the 251D by €30:

that's not that bad... but would now be about $350 to ship to me.

That a shade under or over AUD$600 give or take a bit for postage .
I couldn’t get that over the line .
