Yes, it's the Trophy counter-measure. But its a complicated and costly system to install and operate, only IDF and US M1A2C got it. But that will probably work until some AT missile producer designs a decoy projector as part of the missile warhead. The game of counter/counter measures will never end.

AFAIK the germans have some of their leopards equipped as well, and the T14 Armata has some sort of APS as well, so it is slowly starting to spread further.

But in general, obviously, you are right. Different developments lead to different doctrines/methods/counter-developments etc.

Best example here would be the AMX 30 and the Leopard 1 - Built on the assumption that HEAT warheads would be able to penetrate any sort of steel armour with impunity, thus mobility was paramount, to be able to engage the enemy first before he engaged oneself. Then composite armour came along and changed everything up.

well, it is likely in Ukraine, according to the licenseplate of the blue car, but I doubt the Russian army is using that. So actually it should be a local who supports the Russians?
