Where will you put the battery?
Cheers!
"where will you put the battery"...............................jeez I hope that doesn't spark a "holy-S--t moment"

Guys…. it's my third M-113...
The battery used is the small one coming with the HL T-90. It fits vertically behind the gearbox on top of the receiver, as shown in the electronics planning shot below.
The main challenge will be to optimize the cabling. I need to bring all the cables from the turret to the engine bay, and position them so that they can be connected, avoiding buildup of cabling in such restricted areas, while keeping turret and roof removable. Every available area is prime real estate, including under the gearbox.

Hi,
Here is the completed MRV turret.
The M113 MRV turret is equipped with a searchlight, 4 smoke grenade launchers on each sides, and both commander and gunner have a mount for a 7.62 Browning machine gun, later replaced by a FN Mag.

Here as seen in reference, the searchlight is mounted on its custom bracket on the right of the gun mantlet.

The searchlight and mount were totally scratch built

I determined that the Spyker workshop 3D printed Scorpion smoke grenade launchers would require too much sanding and effort to look good.

New ones were created using plasticard and brass tubes, the brass tube cutter being used to recreate lines on the smoke grenade plastic cover.

For the Browning machine gun, the Shapeways 3D printed gun, mount and ammo box is used with an Aber brass barrel.

Excellent detail work Louis!
The scratch built Search Light looks fantastic and Smoke Grenade Launchers turned out great, they are far better than the 3D parts.
I am very interested top see how the Shapeways 30cal. looks under a coat of paint.

Thank you Barry and Carl,
With this post, the construction phase of the M-113A1 MRV is complete.
These are the Ludwig 3D printed hub caps. With the way I mounted the wheels with the RC Hex bolts as a shaft, I had to make them hollow to fit the wheel. It is impossible to drill through 3D printed parts. I had to use a sander with the Dremel to carefully remove material inside the hub cap by melting the 3D plastic with high speed friction.

The hubs are superglued to the wheels.

The mount for the front tow hooks.

The box under the turret bin is the air filter. Notice the Mato M10 fuel cap, brass tie downs and rear mounts for the top lift hooks, a special design for the MRV.

Sure is a ‘busy’ little thing eh !!
Lots going on.
What’s on for your next project?
Something simple & straightforward?
Like a replica Antikythera Mechanism for example
