More work on the scopes, hard to get that color just right. I mixed red and black enamel paint (1/3 black - 2/3 red) then after it was dry I went over it with red clear. It seems a bit to red right now but that is perfect as it will get darker after the washes and filter. Also I painted the MG42. Lots more to come!

Been following this. Glad you have found the correct colour for the IR searchlight len, now i can paint mine. All i found was B&W photos.

Getting the shade right on those I.R. lights is an eternal quest.
As is with most things I.R. today, any lens is virtually black.
I struggled with mine on my Zu Fuss Panther for ages before just going in & risking a first shade.

Scuff marks must be put down first, lots of people skip this step but the best models stand out due to the little things. every color where chipping is going to go mix it about 30% white or in this case I like cream-wise

Then follow up with the chipping paint over the top, leave a little scuff showing.

It gives the chips depth.

Finished the detail on the scopes, there are rubber portions and then I put some steel pigment on my finger and rubed the edes which gives it a used look and also creates the illusion that the paint is wearing off something metallic.

Time to do the Magic Grime filter! To start I must strip all the parts off the side, everything is filtered/washed separately then reassembled. in the end.

Sorta like the iphone, models are built in components thats the hard part, but final assembly is fairly fast and easy. Thats why Germany makes more per iphone than China!

Next week its time for Magic Grime which will really tie the model together and pop out the detail! Then is final assembly time!

Wow man, that is looking great! Keep up the good work! I'm a bit interested in your scuff marks. On the muzzle brake, it looks like there is a white edge. How did you do that?

Im not sure exactly what your refering to but if you are talking about the lighter colored ring around the chip marks, it is simply mixing the original color with white or cream then putting that color down first, then the chipping color and try to stay inside the lines.
