Im getting one too !! (
Mr F.Orgebear Esq has one left(had) and it is on the way south.
This will be THE single most I have ever outlayed for a Tank & I cant wait.
I dont care if it gets damaged in transit, I will do that anyway once it gets here
I expect a month or 6 weeks might see it here in the current conditions...............
Of note is that I can stump up terrible exchange rate, premium postage and still come out better than a locally purchased Tamiya version by $550AUD
Almost makes me want to become the Australasian/Oceania Zone Taigen agent............

We wrote 'reviews' here when it was released two Christmases ago. It's a great model. Its only niggle is the on / off switch lives under a rear opening flap that won't open unless the turret is facing rearwards but, hey, easily sorted. The upper hull lifts on a rear hinge so internal access is simple and l fitted an alternate switch inside the nose. The only extra you may need is turret machine gun, a couple are available on line.

Mark at Oz Armour is usually very efficient at answering emails.
I know he has moved towards Mato as his primary supplier now, and all things Taigen are hard to get down here.
$943 plus change was the total converted landed cost for me. That’s AUD pesos!!
Just purchase your Pz 4 from Dave at Forgebear & make life easy on yourself !

Congratulations, Herman, you're going to like it. I got mine a few months ago, and while I haven't run it too much I've seen enough to know it's a good, solid tank and should make a good IR battler. To go back to Tom's original post, to be fair, while a mako will make you tammy compatible you won't be fully battle ready at most clubs until you sink the IR emitter 9mm and add an LED flash ring to the apple to show when you take a hit.
Tom, you take good photos but I've noticed you don't do many videos and my JS-2 is sitting right here and being furloughed I don't have much to do so if it won't offend you I'll do a video review and post it here. Sometimes video can show things photos just can't cover, ya know? Let me know what you think.
Tom, what did you end up doing with the tow cables? Here's a shot of mine, I like the effect but I wish they had come up with something better for attachment at the lower end. That plastic tab is easy to break. I can see from the photo I need to touch them up for color (colour

) but the photo really brings out the copper and they look much better to the naked eye. I don't have the little support brackets mounted but they're tucked away safely. I think I'd worry about those coming off in the heat of battle, anyway.
I'm pretty sure the mako supports a genuine Tamiya apple so I think if I were to build a battler with the mako i'd also add the better apple, which would also take care of the LED ring problem. I would suggest the Impact apple to save a buck or two, but the only time I ever took an impact apple to a club meeting there was a lot of whingin' about how the impact didn't take hits as well as the tammy and that gave me an advantage, blah, blah, blah. I have a couple of Mako boards here that I'll probably never use and they would be cheap to ship in the states so if someone can use them speak up and we'll see what we can do. I won't spend any money but I don't need to make anything on these, either, as i got both in other package deals where they were secondary items anyway.
Herman, did you order airsoft or IR? I think the BBs must have gotten boring for me, because my last half dozen tanks have all been IR. Just the stock battle system is cool to have on hand and now I have several combatants and still have plenty of airsoft tanks on the shelf. And I sold my Sherman so once things get back to somewhat normal I guess I have no more excuses for not getting the Tamiya Sherman and finally building an E-8.
E.B. you might want to move this one to the top of that to-buy list. It will make a great opponent for that fine Tiger of yours.
Does anyone know if the Mako can be used with the new HL 6.0? It would be great to be able to battle all these Taigen IR tanks against the Heng Long Jagdpanther and T-90 I have, though the T-90 would be a bit out of place timeline-wise.

Good Afternoon,
Those tow cables are surprisingly solid once placed on those tabs and hooks. I've run mine through the 'Rough' a lot and never had them shift.
regards,
Painless

Mr U52 I got an IR one. I’ve got an idea for a finished model from the 1st Byelorussian Front just after Seelow Heights , but I couldn’t get an unpainted one.
Will be a bit of cosmetic work and paint.
The white turret recognition markings might go, depends on the specific date the tank is set in, before Berlin, but after Seelow , they were put on any lead elements that were Likely to see Western allied contact apparently.
