Really coming together so nicely. What was your trick with the stamping of the dots? I may attempt this camoflouge pattern with my panther Image
Thanks, Carl. Not X rated but IMHO I think it's looking X tra spiffy! :haha:

For the dots, I just used Q-tips. When you first start using one, it'll make fairly small dots. As it gets used, it kind of spreads out. You can roll them on a piece of paper and kind of restore them to shape. I started with the larger dots, outlining the area, then kind of filling it in. The smaller dots complete the filling in. Just spread them out as you wish to get the look you're after. I think I used somewhere around a dozen Q-tips on this one. It's really pretty easy, and goes fairly quickly.

Hope this helps!

Son of a gun-ner wrote:It's quite good as far as scale foliage goes, may need to tone the colour down a bit deeper or more wood/branch colour stems. Just my personal taste/opinion, not a criticism

But other than that, you have a rather splendid piece of armour

Mick.
Thanks, Mick.

I was kind of thinking along those same lines, myself. I like the look of the stuff, just not the color. Might try spraying some tomorrow and see how it comes out. I just choke at the thought of how much those PE leaves would cost for a project like this. I'm starting to run out of body organs to sell off to support my habit! :haha:

And yes, you've made a most welcome money saving choice ;)

Now, where do I get me some of that? Is it for fish tanks?
Here's a couple of close up pictures of the stuff. It comes in a 6 foot (almost 2 meters) long piece. Should do a load of tanks.

And a link to the stuff. It's on sale now for half off. Might be worth the shipping!

Maaagnificent Captain
The foliage is right on the money for scale I reckon, just a dress up of the branches and its a winner.
The plant type"flowering Garland" im not familiar with, but as its plastic, it could post without problem ;)

Great job on the disk camo paint...............its one I want to try myself.

I knew I wasn't going to be able to get the smoker oil into the unit without making a horrible mess, so I decided to make a filling tube to save on a lot of cussing!

I drilled from the inside of the lower hull into the exhaust tubes and added brass tubing to get the smoke out. Still have to paint and rust up this area.

Also moved the on off switch to make it easier to get to.

When the weather cooperates I'll get some better pictures outside.

More to come!

Bill I see you really did a superb job on the foliage by toning it down and redoing it. ( via YouTube video)
