If you can adapt it so the whole roof lifts I would strongly recommend as it makes maintainence a breeze43rdRecceReg wrote:Some great ideas in there,Tom.I'll be adapting a few, particularly the positioning of the on/off switch etc. Quite how the turret holds all that gadgetry I don't know
It's all bit Tardis like

I only have access from the front part of the Turret roof, and so stuffing recoil hardware in there will require something from the black arts, I think![]()

Did you stall it at 1:03? Rookie mistake!tomhugill wrote:Not to let wibbly and 43rr have all the British tank fun, I've got the electrics sorted and a wonderful sound package from Mr Sollie.
I'll let the video do the talking!

It sounds as good as it looks, as to be expected when the two maestros of their respective fields combine their efforts. You and Roy are really going to talk me into one of these aren't you?

I think you said before Ram, that for you the build part with tanks appeals more than the 'play' aspect. Here, then, you can immerse yourself in the 'means', and... ignore the end. Judging by my experience so far, the 'means' can occupy an awful lot of time, spawn unheard of expletives, and prompt late night online researchRaminator wrote:Did you stall it at 1:03? First run of the Cromwell on grass. Wasn't sure how well rear sprockets and metal tracks would go, but pleasantly surprised. Thrashed around happily and no sign of tracks walking off. Tk-60 on 3s gave plenty of power and lovely sound. Thanks Stian Sollie

Sounds great! Looks the part and it is quite a runner too! I'd say if the tracks stayed true after that run they should be fine for a very long time. The sounds of that engine starting are very realistic
well done

Hey folks, it's been a while since I worked one the Cromwell. Whilst I'm waiting for the weathering materials for the firefly I thought I'd get started on painting.
Primed with tamiya fine surface primer, and then a coat of gunship grey. Unfortunately something reacted.

I'm still not sure what caused it but after much sanding, swearing, repainting (repeated about 4 times) finally got it pained without the reaction.
I then applied hairspray and started applying the green and modulated.

Next up after much searching I found a tank to base the markings on.

Markings are a mixture of dry rub, decals and freehand work

Next up was the pin wash and tools
