Looking good!
I also raise my tanks off the suspension to save the springs.

Ad Lav, thank you again! Good idea with those blocks there. Since the weekend's Convention was over and back to work, it was time to go back to the Tiger again. ( Only to come to a screeching halt as it is fiddly brass bits time ) I gave the Aber stuff a look over and read the instructions ( and compared their level of detail to the stock Tamiya parts ) and went right over to EBay and ordered solder paint in hypos as well as bending tools and a pair of lighted magnifiers for working close to the pieces. Once that material gets here, I'll go forward. I really want to use some of this Brass to dress up the tank in locations where it won't be lost the first time the terrain gets rough. I'll muddle around on other not so small stuff until then. Pics:

I'd love to do some aber stuff one day. Not sure how robust they are on a battle tank but I may give it a go.

Ad lav, I've been surprised so far by how solid these fiddly bits feel once mounted on the tank. So, over the last week, I've gotten in a couple of the tools I ordered. I thought I would sit down today and try to get some real work done on the rear bulkhead. Pics:

Good morning, Tiggr,
I walk a fine line with my builds. I want them to click the 'realism' button but also to be able to tackle the outdoors without screaming and cursing ( when some delicate scratch-built part vanishes in the tall grass of the Steppes ) ;o) Mikes Tiger here is a learning experience for me. I usually blend in Tamiya parts for detail on my hybrid HL or MATO builds. This time I am having to take it a step further. When I build my own Tiger, this will be valuable learning to reuse.
regards,
Painless

I've been collecting tools and different kinds of solder paint to use on some PE for this Tiger. Everything finally finished arriving this week in the Post and I sat down tonight to do some more PE work. Mike sent along another ton of PE so I have plenty of Brass to work with. ;o) Also, some cool, informational CDs about the tank itself. As for this evening, very little got done as I think that making bolt heads out of brass is a little weird when I can drill and put a real 2mm bolt in place. The rest of the neat brass screw covers did get used. Next up, building the convoy light mount and deciding what else I want to add to the backplate. Pics:

Thanks, Kaiser. It will be a runner for sure. Spent some four pleasurable hours plus today, constructing PE. Added those bolts to the tow mount, now need to find some correctly sized plastic washers. Pics:
