I just checked. The book thread is still there. 'Ferdinand and Elefant Tank Destroyer' Understood on the tracks. As you said, No Biggie.

Alpha,
I think that the only time I can remember that you were even near being intrusive was the 'Babes on Tanks' bit way back when. Never since and even then that was funny, just distracting. ;o) I look forward to seeing the Elefant material. That build occupies the same kind of niche with me as does the early Tamiya Tiger 1 and the Sturmtiger. Tanks, I _really_ want to build and have one of.

It was more about the Porsche Tiger than the Elefant ....but you'll see that when you look lol...so did you get a Hooben kit or that metal beast?

Good morning, Alpha,
Neither yet. ;o) The book is the smallest beginning. There's a solid year to go before I anticipate being able to step away from the builds already lined up. I am not complaining. I'm a lucky guy with so much to keep busy with and enjoy! ( Probably the metal one since I hear stories about the Hooben version )

Alpha,
I don't want to start a 'What's Better?' discussion with other Elefant fans. I'll just say fragile suspensions and leave it at that. Like anything that we build, any problem can be solved. It's what we do ;o) I may well end up with a Hooben or one of Ludwig's kits. Too early to tell.

The suspension is definitely the issue....not too sure about the Hooben situation...but I think it's just the general design of it...even that static model has it's fare share of issues...so does the metal hulled model...I would just say that plastic might be more "user" friendly than metal...unless of course...you make your own lol...Which is what I know I will have to do with mine...they are pretty tricky...a double pivot "Z" shaped mech that supports two bogies ....The factories did their best to deal with it ...but there are definite flaws in the designs ... I have to make two sets for either side....as Sass's broke when I borrowed his for measurements :shh:
