Still waiting for mine to arrive. It's likely it's in the country already, just that our post office is delayed in sending out the parcel notification.

Which means I get to benefit from you on how to install that on the M1! ;D ;D ;D hehehehehe

Yes just as the pictures show the lip is not as wide from the lift handle location to its end at the hinge.

I'm sure there was no GPS antenna on the M1A2 Abrams behind the CITV tower when they were first issued in their army version. It was added when the SEP 2 version was built as part of the SAP electronics package that was installed in the turret as the SEP program reached it's conclusion and the Army reached its goal for the number of units in service.

Your detailing is up to Atc's standards and impressive. I settled for round plastic to represent bolt heads and didn't bother to make the hatch hold down have the correct cutouts or bolts.
Two things you haven't done that I see are you didn't put the hatch padlock bracket on the hatch rim yet ( the cutout looks good now ) and the lift rings you put on the rear are round wire, the real ones are square sided like Atc's and mine.

Keep up the good work. Yours will be the first posting in the HL Abrams thread I suggested.

The guys have replied re: GPS antenna.

The GPS antenna was first installed on the M1A2 SEP.

Earlier M1A2 just had the internal nav system.

The BFT antenna (Blue Force Tracker) antenna was installed beside the doghouse on the M1A1AIM:

I honestly don't recall seeing the BFT installed at this part on the M1A2. The BFT antenna on the A2SEP v2 is mounted at the rear right side just ahead of the bustle rack.

HTH. :)

Don't forget those "tie down" loops on the back of the Turret Scalawag...it's a small detail...but personally ...I didn't like the look of the molded ones
