You can do it using styrene strips. If its done right it will be strong and flexible at the same time cheap and easy to repair.

I'll let Paul add it to his Leopard and then I'll see how good it is

Can you give a link Paul? Wanted to see how accurate the attachment is.

A Leo2A7 would be a great scratch build project or the Singaporean Leo2SG. Or the Leo2A4 CAN.

Looks OK, needs minor tweaking on the turret slats as the rear end is never straight on the top. It has a step down. I could not see the right side as not in the picture. The hull slats lacks the brace on the rear, at the same time lacks the top brace support. The slat support on the front hull is different due to a thicker armour to protect the driver. Price wise a bit expensive for a styrene/plastic slats. If you have the funds then I think its fine. IMHO I can scratch build a more precise slats and way cheaper and would look like the real thing especially the support brackets. At this scale everything is fully magnified so simulating as close to the actual parts would be a bonus.
Ad Lav, sorry for the off topic discussion. Now back to your build.

No problem - always good to hear what other people can build. I'm a novice when it comes to scratch building stuff!

Ran out of paint again! 5 cans of humbrol 93 so far!
Managed to get the top half of the turret painted with smoke dischargers fitted.
End caps with the chain are fiddly and being made tonight - only made 4 out of 16!
Hatches need painting before fixing.
Detail painting to take place soon.

Off to get some more paint after work tomorrow so I can touch in a couple of area I missed - underneath the turret/smoke discharger etc.
Fitted and painted the periscope glass. Used Tamiya clear blue painted in both sides, looks good. Photos to follow when I have fitted discharger caps.
