I remember how that was, before I moved in with my GF. My workspace was 3 feet away from my keyboard. The dust, oh god the dust....

It's a boring process but take a break and do some detail work if possible. I find it best to mix it up. Keep up the great work bro.

So I found a way out of the rut that is sanding ......................

Coronas, pool, sun, music, floating bar....................... 8)

treated myself to a day out in this joint I call home.

Rightyo, now..............sunburnt, to the buggery mind you :{

But guess what ?
The sanding did not go away :'(
Mrs Bix got some stuff thats a plant extract(funny how I thought Tequila was a plant extract ?) and rubbed it on my burnt bits.
Told me to stop bitching & let me forego the normal duties assosiated with assisting with a 4 month old & a 2.5 year old
oh, and a whatever year old and his sister..............

Took the high spots off the patch & coated all flat surfaces with slow cure super glue.
Used an old credit card as a spreader, but got the shits with that &n used me finger.
Ended up peeling my print off - no B.S. !!!
Tore up the left side guard as per picture & put a few wrinkles in the remaining guards on both sides.

Its not looking to shabby

Yes, yes you did.
Sanding dust is one thing..............once the super glue set the ridge left behind was quite severe. :wtf:

Over all a very good solution, and coated with super glue as a sealer, its a stayer.
All the large surfaces are coated with the super glue and seem to have a reasonable "rolled armour" resemblence.
My next mission is to get over the wild sunburn on the face & shoulders
Quick nurse, add ice cubes and fluids ???!!!..............Ahhh, Jack Daniels, IM CURED :haha: :haha: :haha:

Plastic dust and super glue comes hard as rock... that's what's good about it ..it's not as porous as bondo or body filler.. takes paint just like the original surface
80 grit usually takes it down fine...a little follow with some emery boards and usually you are set to go

But I sense there was another mission at hand ...and I bet a little Nursing during the process must have helped immensely :D

Seems to me it would have been a bit easier to have purchased a hull from Tamiya, then you would not have to go through all the modifications to get the hull right. But then it could be argued you should have just purchased a whole Tamiya in the first place.. At any rate, looks like you have your work cut out for you and you are doing a great job! Keep er going!

Think of it like Im ending up with exactly what I want, but in installments !!
The only Tam KT Ive seen for sale locally is AUD$1200................I would be a nervous booze -wreck putting it together & trying to get it just the way I wanted !!
Yes at times the mods etc are a pain in the But-tox, and the time put in perhaps could be better used elsewhere, but if not for this predominantly nocturnal activity, I might be running into traffic, with scissors, in my undies 8O 8O :O

The upper hull isn't priced too bad though Herman... but you did the work already...so the point is moot :haha:
