I’ll ad hinges and drill out the mesh as you can see I’ve started just to see how it looks, on the flip side it looks good enough but a long boring job!

Wow Doc... You found another secret treasure .. That access hatch looks very promising.. I wonder if that's why HENG LONG suspended the smoker like they did ...it might turn out the be a really cool way to refill the smoke fluids :D

I'm not there yet... working on a second half moon hatch... but I can't believe HENG LONG actually detailed the space :O

Awesome find Dr Phil

Hello Dr. Phil ...just thought you might want to see my second half moon hatch for the T34...I didn't take any pictures of my first ...so since I'm taking a break from it.. this is what the mid point looks like

Image
after prying off the original that came with it
Image

I think you can tell what I did ...anyway that's a inner PANTHER bogie....I glued a sprue piece into the hole in the center..put that in a drill and sanded off the outer edge
I filled the hollow of the wheel with milliput... sanded that flat... measured and cut the hatch... took the front hinge from the old stock HL T34 hatch....and trimmed the hinge off one of the inner two...the marks are where the bolts will go also the perisight..and the lock... they will be drilled out...and detailed after I put the second layer of milliput to make up the difference....in the level of the currently green and white of the hatch halves
Anyway.. that's what it looks like at this point...probably by tomorrow it will be finished

I know the WSN turret as a whole looks betther.... but I didn't want to make the switch... as with the HENG LONG.. everything operates

have a good one Dr. Phil

Thanks for posting your pictures and progress on this Phil. I am seriously considering the T34 as my first proper project and this thread is proving a great help in making my decision.

Thanks for your input too ALPHA.

Just will someone now tell me a name of a recommended vendor in the UK where I can get one from!?! :haha:

Not in the UK... but MIDEATECH....EBAY,,,SELLER....they are really fast...and friendly...they have two ways of buying as they usually have one "buy it now" and one "auction" I went for the auction on all the tanks I bought.....you don't really save all that much I think it's like ten dollars... but by getting it on auction that ten dollars helps carry the shipping cost...for me anyway..probably for you as well TKcommander...
I find there is an ease... when you buy something from them... though they don't really sell the high end tamiyas and such...doesn't matter to me.. I like the HENG LONG PRODUCT...I especially like this T34 and the SHERMAN.(which is packaged like a special edition)....both purchased with MIDEATECH

What can I say I trust them

Seriously though.... If you are "thinking" about getting one ...stop thinking lol... JUST GET IT... it's an awesome tank...pretty nimble... and with what Dr Phil has found and provided..makes it even better... as an added note .... you don't have to do the plastic blocks... as now... the new T34s being released sit almost perfectly...

Not to mention... this would be a super nice black VADER tank ;)

Started work on the turret, removed the LED from the front one swift knock with a hammer and copper tube. Glued it to the inside of the turret job done.

Started the weld seems and front cut marks on the turret with apoxy sculpt.

The turret is going to be finished off with Mr 500 with a very rough finish. Got pictures of the Bovington T34 and the turret looks like it has been iced with a pallet knife!
Image

I'm going for version B for this turret with split hatch, well similar version!

Next up will be the IBU2 unit, got some 2.4gig receivers from my Heli's I've sold so I can use my DX7s which has 20 different models I can tune in.

I had a look at the barrels on the T34 and the handles are very Heng Long! I will replace with brass. The barrels that sit on the back are full of oil in real life which they pumped into the engine exhaust to provide a smoke screen I believe. I will replace the ones on the tank with brass or something and make them go into the barrels.

Not sure if I'm going to do the field armour like my last T34.. prob not.

Good Morning,
Coming along nicely, Sir. I have captured Russian Armor on my mind in the near future ( Pz 754r ) so I will follow this build with much interest.
