Hi Louis,

Thank you for the kind words.

I cut most of the brass using a Band Saw as close to my scribe line as I dare. Depending on how close I get I may need to use the Belt Sander to get closer or finish to the line by hand filing and sanding. I try hard to keep my work as neat and tidy as I can, it just makes me a better modeler.

Good evening,
Words are mere trifles in describing such museum grade work. Looking forward to paint and seeing it run.
regards,
Painless

Greetings Painless,

Thank you very much for you too kind words of praise. :)
I plan on giving the Ammo by Mig a try. I've never had much luck with acrylics but most of what I have used were some of early stuff back 25 years ago.
I have picked up a number of their publications and have been studying up.

Barry, the work you're doing is absolutely unreal! You're really setting a prime example to follow. I hope to one day even be remotely as skilled as you.

Hi folks,

I has been a while since last update but I have been trying to absorb and recreate all the details associated with the Commander's Couple and Weapon Station.

Started with the copula and after getting quite a ways along I discovered that the view block housings were 1.75 Scale inches too high. It was throwing everything off so I chose to carefully extract the view block section fro the base and lower it. One major problem was the two water drain paths/holes on each side at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions, they were far to high.

With my rework and added details.

The parts separated.......was a little challenging but worked out.

Many more pics to come.

Here is the reassembled copula with the right 50 cal mount and periscope sight and some other details added. You can see the water drains are now much closer in position.

Here is the inner and outer hatch along with the "trapeze" opening mechanism.
