Sorry all to bring this old post to the forefront but after having a 6 month break whilst moving house , Herman you have turned a VW GOLF into a Bugatti to take a Mattoro and rebuild it to that quality you are nothing short of a genius !!!!!

Apologies Mr Rainford, I had not kept track of this thread for a while until now.
I do have a substitute IBU2 system in hand, already amp'd.
But I need to remove the unit from the tank and swap it out, then get that original IBu sorted & up to spec.
That will be a while.

The speaker is an added problem, but one that will soon be overcome.

Thanks and great to hear from you Mr Spartan
Hows your health mate ?, I bet the move has done wonders but jeez, that workshop of yours must be missed ? :eh:
Oh, and it was more of a Mondeo into a Veyron really !!
Genius, no, there are other beings at play here that go much closer to such accolades, but this was for me the biggest project for ages.

Been experimenting with foliage. :problem:
These things had-like it or not- plenty of tree material bunged on them most of the time.
Now scale foliage is an ongoing problem for these tanks.
Really, any German tank we make that is themed in Europe should be festooned with tree branches to the extent that you really should not be able to tell what the paint scheme was underneath
I have looked around for, and found, what I think works for this Jagdtiger and the scheme it depicts.
Now I really do not like the fact that trees cover up the hard work put in under the branches, but nevertheless, one of these should have it.
Nature will intend that there is no way we can get a natural look with synthetic tree material, but all we can do is try.

I went out today to try and get more of the same material to work with, but as if it was destined, none in stock across 3 suppliers.
Actually, I believe the quote of the day was "we have been F#$#*##@#ing around all morning looking for pretend trees for pretend Tanks"
Yes Darling, we have, but men-and German Tanks, have needs.

So......................?

It is looking good although it is not the correct European foliage type, but I wouldn't have a better idea either. Is this from aquaristic supply?

The foliage is from the floral arrangement section of a chain store called Spotlight here.
While not perfect, it’s close enough to get the effect.
I really think that the next achievement in our scale tank detailing is to replicate trees!
Every German tank was festooned with a mountain of branches in the western theatre, so getting that look right is the next challenge.
One thing photo etch can’t be used for !!!!
