As a battlefield, we have 2 bridges, a couple of fairly level crossing areas plus wibblywobbly's earth track with fences. Nothing really tests out the tank suspension. I've driven the Land Rover test track which is a serious suspension test. We really should having something like that, that is more testing. Not that I'm volunteering at present, but if someone wishes to take up the challenge ........
It's the transportation that is the problem, I stick my tanks on top of the scenery in the back of the car, its the only way that I can fit it all in. Perhaps we should go and take a look at the state of the outdoor battlefield at the next meet, many of the members have never seen it? Personally I would really like to run the tanks outdoors, they always look much better. A grass free quarry or somewhere would be great, there are a few around, but the only ones I have been to entail a fair bit of walking.

We could always have a day out at Rhoose Point if peeps were feeling adventurous, bit of a trek, but brilliant for tanks (and boats!).

That looks a fantastic site. A great test of driving AND potential for turning your tank over! Had a look online - could not find much of use. I assume it's somewhere near Cardiff Airport. I would certainly be prepared to travel. In terms of time and distance, it's the same as travelling to Templecombe, just the cost of the bridge toll!

Its a bit further than Cardiff, about 60 miles from Bristol from what I recall. Rhoose is west of Barry, which is west of Cardiff. Rhoose Point is right on the Severn Estuary. Type Bryn Y Gloyn into Google Earth, that should find it.

Found it. It looks even better. A bit further, but the same travelling time.
