Its had a bit of use lately & now needs its first maintenance intervention.
The recoil is intermittent and the volume is just not kosher, so I have to open him up to restore his battlefield presence !!

Drives and operates very well, but internal gremlins have popped up................oh well :/
An amplifier and work on the recoil coming right up

Typical jagdtigerImage it does make for fun though once you start making some Headway with the repairs

Oh the fun bit, yeah that !
I build mine not to be easy to re-enter unfortunately.
As its got a used look about it, there is no loss of detail to worry about .
We have a model show coming up soon, so I would like to get it sorted by then.
Always something eh !

Herman is it the volume pot or the speaker that's dodgy? I know you mentioned the Tpa amp did you ever fit it?

No mate, I didnt know what I didnt know in regards the TPA & never pursued it.
I just wanted to get it finished and am guilty of rushing the critical points.
I really feel its a combination of both.
The speaker is not the right ohms rating for the board, and the board lacks an amp.

Herman I run several IBU boards and without an amp they sound very good. I'd say your main issue is the speaker as you noted. If you need a better speaker in an enclosure I can help you out. I'd just have you cover shipping (not sure how much to you) but the speaker would be on me. I've several for you to choose from if interested. Image

I've got a third Visaton FRS7 that's no good to me, Herman. If you'd said you needed a speaker before I posted all that other stuff, I could have included it at the same time! ;)
