Yes agree nice hull and heavy. Funnily after I was working on the KV I went to move my Tiger with asiatam hull and thought bloody light, then realised I removed the metal tracks at weekend as was covered in snowReaper332 wrote:Nice work so far Tankbear, I have the exact same hull as yours only I mine has the spring latch to remove the top just waiting on getting the gearboxes for it so i can finish it. When you say idler, you referring to wheel at front of tank? Not certain how to remove this as track blocking access to grub screw (unless I’m remembering it wrong)blimp wrote:Removing the tracks on the KV is a royal pain . Yeah thats how I get my tracks off by removing the front idler as Blimp says you just need to line up a track hole to stick your allen key through to access the grub screw.blimp wrote:Yes , the front wheels ( even removing roadwheels will help ) I ground down an old allen key , you can get access through a track hole if you line it up just right ,it is still fiddly but once set up and running properly i don't intend touching it again if i can help it ! - Another way is to remove the scraper - I trimmed part of the inner rear 'lip' on my HL plastic one , I can pop it off now and get the sprocket off - the Asiatam ones are metal , different again , but the rearmost hole in the plastic sides can be CAREFULLY enlarged to do the same thing. . .
