Evening........still not got the tank off the dining table!....you can just make out the xmas table runner!.....anyway....shortened the commanders cupola......not good pics, sorry, but i think it is about the right size now(panther ocd)..cut a few mill off, then re-glued......re-drilled the hole and filled inthe gap behind with lilliput.....the cupola now touches the stop i had made..
Nic
this is now getting silly....fynsdad.......its a plastic tank!

Hi again, I have been researching that little armored bit in front of the commanders cupola, and found out that heng long got it right!.opps, my fault, but a lot of the books I have show it in line with the front episcope...well, its not. Will post some pics later to show what I mean, I can not believe that so many books got it wrong. The Thomas L Jentz book "The Panther Tank" got it right....In the new year it will become clearer, as I have been researching the infrared sight/light
Nic
If anyone has more info/ clear photos of the armoured opening it would be greatly appreciated..

For those who like panthers..just to say in a moment of madness I ordered the wecohe ifrared kit.....if you dont tell my wife, I wont!....oh jeez!.........The kit will not come for a few weeks...some bits they have to get made per order...will try my best to finish off the running boards/ schurtzen mounts on the right hand side before then..
Also been in touch with asiatam to find out if they will replace the hub caps for the rear idlers....I only lost one, but two must be the minimum order I think, still no reply yet...it is christmas, so I do not expect a Quick responce....
Nic
Ps...the drawings/instructions, for the night sight are....will be the most challenging thing I will do....I hope when I start I can do it justice

Hi Nic, first off fine build, excellent detailing. I have a request, could you post a pic of the Schurzen panel mounting brackets so I may dublicate the mounting method. And in your research the fan vent wire covers are mounted on top of both units? Thanks, and please keep posting the detail parts are a little over whelming the first time out. and I would prefer following an expert, cheers and Merry Christmas. Sax

Hi Sax.........sorry, i aint no expert.........this is my first build where i am trying to make it look like the real thing....sorry to sound like a cowboy(that means someone who cuts corners in the UK!)...when I bought the profiline kit from welshdragon, it came with autocad drawings for where to bend the brackets that attached to the hull...but no detail about where to fix to the hull...I guessed....I just held the running board up against the hull and went for it....there are holes in the running boards that line up with he brackets...I made a pencil mark and thats where i glued....if it was not spot on, ie, I just pulled it off...as I used superglue for first fixing....no maths, just trial and error....if it was to far one way, I just ripped it off....superglue is good like that!..then when I was happy that the shurtzen could slide off and on, and the holes on the profiline schurtzen DO need opening up to take the brackets...sorry to sound vague...I will measure the bracket distance that I have tomorrow ..and hope that it helps
So far regarding fan vent wire covers....on the g it was on both, earlier versions are dubious, ie field mods...this is for experts...as it was introduced on all tanks after a certain date......

I understand Nic,I'm 20 yrs with the same women. She really got mad last week when I printed decal sheets the used the spray bonder in the bathroom, very strong oder. So I am in a similar situation,no snow but very frigid temps, any time will work fine as I have missed up the last set and am working on the Kubelwagen/VW Beetle in Gray if IT WARMS UP ENOUGH TO PAINT.
Really like the Panther, cheers for now,Merry Christmas,Blake
