But I would love to see someone do Clint Eastwood's jeep from Kelly's Heroes and use gold foil to make the glistening ingots stashed in the back.
YES, and one of the halftracks with the 105 on top! I remember a forum member threatening to doing a Tiger I/T34 hybrid.

On of my "of a certain age" friends says that "Combat!" with Sgt. Saunders is still pretty good. I will have to try it on YouTube.

I loved Combat, but as I recall (like Commando with Arnold) Good guys stood in the open and the bad guys were in deep cover....

Good guys seemed to get away without injury and the bad guys didn't fare as well.

In which program did one of the Americans warn the others with "erry-jay in the uck-tray?" I've always wanted to find that one.

As mentioned in passing a while ago, I've given up on replicating the Italian unform for the driver. I thought I might use one of the Heng Long figures to make an Afrika Korps driver. Even so, they would need a lot of work to make into a suitable occupant. However, my Takom jeep kit comes with an American soldier in hunched-over-the-wheel pose, and consists of a dozen or so pieces, such that it might be modified if required. I partially assembled it without arms, and sure enough, it was almost a fit, except the wheel was too close to the seat. I ground away his backside and now the driver can be squeezed in, and to me is passable in a 1/14 scale vehicle. Here it is with the arms adjusted to suit the bigger wheel and with a coat of primer.

The G.I. uniform was a concern, but looking at Afrika Korps figures I thought the jacket length was close and a head swap using the afore-mentioned HL body would make it work.

Finished driver with hands and head.

And finally for Mike, some brass rod to fix the crude transmission levers.

I think I’ll call this done – now to put it all together.

"...except the wheel was too close to the seat": now that's realism. :haha: The steering wheel of a vintage Jeep is right in ones lap.

I know several jeep owners who would like to grind away their backsides! I'm not a big guy and wedging myself into my son's GPW was interesting. Knees out or it ain't happenin' ! Once you're settled in though they are pretty comfy.

Those shift levers really look the business Estnische! Great looking and accurate interior!
