Panzermechaniker, your "twins" are fine! I'd bet you are eager to get both together for the camera. I noticed the look of the steel tools, e.g. the shovel head or the crowbar. I have been disappointed in the overly silvery look of every "steel" or "gun metal" color paint I have, from Testors to Vallejo to Tamiya and even more brands. What paint(s) did you use to get that look?

Yes I know what you mean. I use to use gunmetal on the tools but now just C clamps. What I started using by accident is Tamiya XF 85 Rubber Black and just brush some pastel dust over them. I much prefer the look to gunmetal or black now

Thank you! I will rummage through my Tamiya paints (not too many). It sounds familiar, and if---IF---I recall correctly, I did not like it as a "rubber" color (preferring the old (now defunct) Testor's Rubber. If I do not recall correctly, it goes on my list for when the money tree shakes.
