Rummaging through my stash of goodies on Thursday evening (15 Aug. 2024) I found one of those working convoy lights. Someday I will be able to use it and now I know you two eggs-perts who will show me how.

Installed barrel travel crutch and lock. While this a beautiful and functional piece of kit almost jewelry like because it is pewter 2 pieces separated just from handling so no way it would be able to handle the abuse outdoors. Since this is the most important change I've made on the model I said to hell with the joins being pretty and have use large ugly joins on the feet and leg support bar using lots of J-B Weld. Mightn't be pretty but they aren't going to be coming apart again

I think that looks fantastic! Love the extra details like that.

It may well be, Panzermechaniker, that the heavy welded joints may better reflect late War weld quality than anything spiffier. I agree with Jimster: it's just fine.

Jagdtiger is almost done. Just some small little things to do such as tiny magnets in the rear doors to keep them from flopping around etc. Just a couple of shots but it goes to the field tomorrow so I should be able to get much better ones of the beast in the wild

Your JT turned out very nice, looking forward to some outdoor pics!
What a great idea using JB-Weld.
Great stuff, used it many times on my Harley-Davidsons, that stuff never will come off on its own again :D
I do have a Jagdtiger too, and also one of those travel locks (not attached yet!)
Tank (well in fact, it ain't a tank....) still on the shelf, first have to finish other projects, so the Beast will have to wait.
I do have in mind, taking the side skirts off too, maybe not all of them but I am not sure of that right now.
Did that job on 3 of my 4 King Tigers, will make quite a difference in the overall looks of the Destroyer too.
Have a nice weekend.
Rob.

And "the Beast", or better: "das Biest".

Those are great shots. As usual your figures are amazing as well. I'll post up these half dozen outdoor shots and call this build finished. It wasn't so much a build as a refresh so just barely qualified to be in the group build imo :)

As much excellent work as you’ve put into this project I would say that it is a build.
Nice photos.

Whoa! That was a great deal more than a "refresh"! By comparison, my DAK PzKw IV will certainly be a "refresh," both because I am fond of it mostly as is and because I am turning to new austerity measures in my dodderinghood. ;) Well..."austerity" may overstate it a bit. :haha:

  I see an unwritten requirement here on RCTW: any Tiger I, Königstiger, or variant must carry a bucket. I will comply.
