Uh-oh: the competition is getting stiff. Except I can see us helping one-another with ideas so we all have fun and end up with some great tanks.

I just did my KV1 last winter so I'd lean towards the Sherman because I don't have one or anything American yet. It wouldn't have to be winter camo it could just be our friendly winter project. Although a HL Sherman 105, battle of the bulge would do. I was leaning towards super cheap on the tank, like say an "Upgrade version" for $150 all in from Motion RC on my end, or a "Pro" version for $199. if that's what you have. Doing it just for the fun, paint process, finishing and weathering, no extra parts or metal or upgrades.Herr Dr. Professor wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 3:53 am Well as for HengLong, I have in the waiting a Sherman and a KV-2, both with HengLong metal upgrades.
I'm not into modern tanks yet and I already decided my first will be a Leopard and I know for certain the Leo requires upgrades.Herr Dr. Professor wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 3:53 am(I also have an IDF Merkava as well as some other contemporary tanks, none likely to have ever been in winter camouflage.)
I like this too since I don't see nearly as much activity on this site as I do in Facebook RC tank groups or even in the Tank of the Month thread here.Herr Dr. Professor wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 3:53 am"Heck anyone could join us." I was thinking--and hoping--the same. Maybe you and I could decide on the tank and then start a dual build thread, but advertise it as open for others, too.
I totally love this. Heck I could even do the less expensive plastic Sherman with your metal one. There would be some different techniques, we could share and get ideas from each other and other members.Herr Dr. Professor wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 3:53 amI favor "the best you can on the cheap...budget would only apply to the tank, not paint and products...[has to be] a functional RC tank." In fact, I would be in favor of "finishing products only," i.e. not extra metal or 3D parts. I say this because I want to keep my hobby spending under control. (He says,) I am open to your ideas on this fun.
Oh shit, errr I mean Awesome!!! lol... J/K.HERMAN BIX wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 4:13 am I might be in on this.......................tank model availability dependent of course.

Thank you. Where do we find these lens covers again?
