:D So pleased that the idlers worked for you Mr Bix. Building a working the crane is going to be a lot of fiddly work. Great to see you back on track. John.

It sure did work mate, I really don’t like having a project fail and be shoved into storage. Now I can get on with it and get a bit of return on the effort to bring the poor busted Matorro thing to life.

The mortar elevation is a challenge.
To get reasonable range of travel without making things overly complicated.
An HL elevation unit with a custom mount and the link arm extended seems to be near enough.
The Matorro bb unit has a slot on one side that is like a Tee slot. I added a washer & screw on the end of a reused section of hull mounting post to reach out and engage the washer inside the tee slot so the entire unit stays put while allowing the link arm to slide along the slot.
A bit of 2nm styrene cut to shape from a cardboard template to pick up old mounting points and it’s secure.
Near enough for me!

Made a false floor out of 2mm styrene to cover the torsion bars and get the inside stuff under way.
A plain V7 board will do enough for the limited features this needs.
I had a Visaton 7 speaker in the parts stash that went into a custom made box, also out of 2mm sheet.
Just need to solder the motor cables on & then I’m back to where I was a year ago :/

Looking good Herman, very nice Sturmtiger, the 7.0 is ideal for what you have and the engine note is bob on, just getting involved
with my tanks after several years off with my Stumtiger waiting for some attention.

Regards John

In keeping with the theme of :poop: spun into gold, the ammo crane is a mini project in itself.
Now I could buy one from RC Tank De for 14 E plus 7 gaz zillion in postage, or, raid the materials bin & see how I go.
Old HL StuG jacks, brass stock, cut wheel hub, an HL aerial post, and picture hanging wire to cobble into some near enough crane.

Some brass angle and a couple of wooden sheaves and it’s getting closer.
Once painted the wooden sheaves won’t look like wood !

Keep going, Bix! I have been watching quietly all along. When I first got a Sturmtiger from Torro (Taigen), I thought that a working crane would be a fascinating detail with lots of potential for photos.

:) Good evening, superb work Mr.Bix for information, there are different diameter brass pulleys in boat fittings, even if your work is very good
