HERMAN
Thank you for your kind words.
I see you have a number of Heng Long tanks! I was looking at the HL 7.1 main board and was wondering if you know if it would be suitable for controlling the Comet. It has 2 540 size motors in it and I would like to use a smoke generator and maybe engine noise. Also it will have a rotating turret and elevating barrel.
Steve..

As the 7.1 I'm not qualified to say as I have only just got a V7.0.
However, from what I do know about them is that the sound options are very limited.
The heng long 6.0, 6.1s, have 4 sounds but none are close to a Meteor engine for the Comet.
Tiger 1, Leo 2, T90 and Abrams in the one board.
The 7.0 and 7.1 from what I have been advised are only 2 sound options, tiger 1 and leo 2, T90 and Abrams on separate boards.
6.1s and 7.1 are servo compatible, which might be handy.
I'd say to get just precisely what you want to hear from such a massive achievement is a custom Clark set up from Mr Maxmekker who is an upstanding member here.

On larger tanks I personally would just use a Benedini sound card and ESCs to control the motors since there aren't any IR battle functions needed. Servos can be plugged directly into the receiver. RC switches can be used to do the lights.

After a 3 week break it's back onto the Comet. Turret build going well.
