You must be able to work with the piece under a microscope!

That's the kind of detail that causes other modelers to exclaim, "Wouldja lookit dat!"

Hi chaps,
Mr RecceReg and Herr Dr, Mr Bix..thank you for your continued interest and comments..most kind.
Had enough of the micro padlocks for a while so thought i would have a go at making the MG42 for the turret, at 1/11 scale it is quite a lump.
Made from styrene, brass and carved wood for the stock, just need to add the exterior barrel heat shield and sights then stain the wood etc, looks ok so far i think.

Marvellous
I love the idea of a carved wood and then stained stock.
Do you have a model of one to work from? Let me know if you don't i might be able to send one across which you can measure from etc. Looking good

A couple of pics of me trying to make the barrel heat shield, its not straight forward to try and get it to blend in at the muzzle end and body end as they are different sizes and shapes.

Sub, there must be something you cannot do!

Let me think... Do you devise ways to reduce the half-life of uranium to zero? Cook? Ah ha! Maybe you are not a master chef
