Your technique then, Marco, is Post-Shading. You're working from light to dark, and that's the route I would take too. In the meantime, all your masterly handiwork serves to highlight the superb detailing that is to be found in Armortek products. So much so, that it's actually quite depressing. There must be a multitude of envious peepers out there ...including mine

Think I will just do what was done with Sherman. It was easier

Even though I'm fully awake now I cannot find the exact right words to describe what I want to answer, but let's put it like this: shading is more to make large flats and shapes stand out because on a model the light makes different shadows than on a real vehicle. But what you mean is more like wash to make small details stand out more. But basically everything you describe would help!

Experiment a lot, don't be afraid to simply try stuff and see what happens!

Maybe hard to see but the arrows indicate the border between an area that had a wash applied to it, then wiped off (left) and an area without (right).


Little bit better... But I seem to forget something important...

The tools were excellent aftermarket tools but white metal, no real wood handles.

I wanted to see a little more grain in the wood:

I’m quite sure the bin is what would happen but I have some Sherman parts I can use to see

Hmmm my lack of patience, skills or subtlety shows off here, you can clearly see where I removed the dots - like a brute! I just blame my dremel.
