Yes, you are correct, Alwyn sent me the IS2 info, so taking another look at the pics that plate is the exhaust. It's different to the IS2 but in the same place. I will have a ferret around the 1/35 sites as a few have been built, I should be able to get an idea of the shape that way.

They aren't on the blueprint that I was using.

Started applying paint, and getting the top hull completed. All of the modelling is done, it's just getting the paint on nicely now, and gluing the fuel tanks and mg gun ring on.

The lower hull is all done, just need to get some primer and then spray that up. Still need to do mounts for the barrel recoil and traverse servo's, which should be fairly easy to do.

Coming along...and using up more paint than any other tank I have airbrushed. It runs, I have a Leopard TK22 in there that sounds nothing like a Leopard, and is so clanky it sounds more Russian, so it will do for now.

The recoil and traverse has all been done, but I am awaiting some servo's. The barrel internal diameter is 9mm, so I am toying with the idea of installing the IR emitter and the muzzle flash side by side in there. If I use 3mm led's they should fit easily, could even do a 5mm + 3mm at a push.

Managed to shoe horn two 5mm led's into the barrel. The front one is the muzzle flash, and the IR emitter is stepped in behind it. It should still work ok even though the tube that the IR beam travels down is narrower than the led itself.

Still waiting for the servo's, so made a start on the weathering, and a crate for the rear that will house the IR sensors and a hit led. I'm not putting a sensor on the front as these things were so heavily armoured that there wasn't much in existence that would do them any damage. It's never going to look the part until the fuel tanks are mounted, I might even do a pair to go on the back, even though the Kubinka prototype never had them...this is a battlefield version after all.

And for the eagle eyed there should be a thin raised area of extra armour all around the lower citadel, I may add this later, but the only way to do it is with paper thin styrene, and some very accurate cutting to make all of the edges line up.

Rob that is one amazing build, the sound is brilliant . The tank looks and sounds really dark, brooding and ominous and totally realistic.

Fantastic job, really well executed and completed
