No doubting the quality and effort to get the final look .
I will go as far as to say the turret looks 'small' for the armour below it

These days it would have a complex weapons system that reflects the chassis it sits on !
A Bradley MICV turret would not look out of place !

It would look more lethal but it would be overkill trying to shoot a mouse with a 25mm chain gun and Tow missiles. This specific variant is an armed escort vehicle developed for the Military police and can carry up to 12 crew and personnel. It goes at 100km/h, so I imagine the light single man turret is meant to keep the weight down while maximizing the armor. Notice the all around visors and pistol ports, pretty useful in an ambush or crowd control situation. It is in the same class as the BRDM-2.

Thank you Christian, i really appreciate the accurate dimensions of your basic kits, both M-113 and the Commando were very good bases . Can't wait to start the next one.
After the first coat of enamel primer, the usual imperfections typical of such scratch building are showing up all around. But its better than expected.

More putty, sanding, polishing... a phase that must not be skipped.

Same area after second coat of primer, its much better,

One big issue with the Heng Long/WPL tires is that they are flat. My tires needed a little boost to be as per reference so I decided to create a set of "show off" inflated tires. My trick was to fill them with those Heng Long pellets that comes with every tank. The technique is to insert the pellet, then massage the tires until they can't take any more, making sure that the tires remain round as much as possible. Each tire take about a HL box of pellets.

Here is a before and after comparison. The tire now look inflated and has gained about 5mm in diameter, exactly what I needed.

Here is the model sporting its new "show off" inflated tires. However, the flat set would probably be better for running, I have not tried these yet.

Next step is to give the acrylic coats on the model.

				Hi,
Many Commando armored cars in Vietnam had a colourful cartoon figure painted on the front, I wanted something similar.

I am currently painting and weathering the model, its going rather well I think. I am very happy with the results considering that the model was a bunch of plasticard sheets a few weeks ago.

Can you give us a size comparison to one of the tanks, that would be interesting.
