MAN that Tiger looks SO good Tony! I thought the previous scheme was brilliant but this one tops even that!

i wasn't sure at first if it would work out but i,m a bit more confident it,ll look OK when its finished now, which is about in week or so..............tony. 

OK then! thats the first coat of ronseal on, you can see how much more the colors show through and how much brighter the upper hull seems too be, leave this to dry for about 48 hrs i have seen some good models screwed up because the varnish hasn't dried properly so be patient.

(pic,40) is of the decal you can see how flat and snug this has gone on, put the decals on after you have glossed everything and before the Matt varnish.

Great stuff, its really starting to come together.

I painted the lower Hull/ wheel area, mud brown today. The camo colours on the sprockets, idlers and road wheels are done. I plan to tone them right down with a very, very thinned coat of the mud brown/buff colour.

dampen the wheels down with white spirits then put a wash through them (don't gloss) when its dry very gently dry brush with some of the base color lightened with a bit of buff when its dry tone them down with your mud color.

although these wheels are one color the concept is the same (pic,41 base color) ( pic,42 wash) (pic,43 drybrush)

Is it ok to dampen the wheels down when there is no varnish on ( Might it take the paint off ?) Is the wash the same mix oil paint to thinner as mentioned earlier in the thread.

yes you can dampen them down without any varnish on as long as the paint is acrylic there wont be any reaction with the oil wash.
