Migrating track pins is a totally different issue. I have tried blue Loctite and that didn't work. So I tried superglue and found that if you apply a touch too much you end up bonding the track links. Right now I'm experimenting with rubber cement and it looks like it may have some promise.

If you look at the T34 (The real one) you will see that on the hull is a graded block sloped on both the leading and the trailing edge on each side,
It was fitted because the track pins had a nasty habit of working free,
With the block added now as the track came round with the Pin working free it would be forced back in place as it grounded against the block.
With the slope on both the leading and the trailing edge it does the job when going forwards or backwards.
So if your track pins are working free the first thing to do is to make sure the "FAT" end of the track pin is on the inside and that you have screwed a graded block in place for any escaping pin to be relocated.
Shaun.

My T34 is one of the tanks I am having this issue with. The Taigen hull does have this bulge on it and I do have the tracks set up so the pins do migrate towards the hull. They do get pushed back in somewhat but not enough as they sometimes will catch on the hull. I'll have to look into slightly increasing the bulge to reset them further. I did notice the clacking of the tracks increases when the pins strike the bulge and I do rather like that distinct sound.

Which means?
In other words, are torro better?

Mick.
Yes. Like my Tamiya King Tiger metal tracks are closed pin like the real ones. No exposed pin in the middle of the track facing the wheels. The track links are solid where they join.Image
Tanks for the info. Yeah I found them today on the Imex parts site and can tell it looks like a big diffrence. Hopefully he doesnt forget :haha: fingers crossed

hey guys so here is the update so far. The king tiger that I returned to Imex arrived this past Friday, so far I have not received a email saying that they have sent me another unit, not sure if this return will take longer since they are doing some sort of trade show, I hope Erik doesn't forget about the Torro tracks he said he was gonna throw in ??? ....so while waiting for that my Panther G (plastic) arrived today. So far so good, only issue was that the oil bottle leaked a lot due to the top of the bottle not being screwed all the way, luckily the plastic bag it came in was sealed so the oil was contained or else it would have been an ugly mess inside the box  . Other than that everything works like it should. I will take it out for a spin later on in the evening when it gets a little cooler. Will update you guys once I can confirm that the replacement King Tiger has been sent.

Well, I hope you enjoy your panther G and all goes well. The sad thing, most of these tanks have some silly little error like your oil bottle not being done up properly, price we pay for not spending a fortune.

Oh well, fingers crossed, third time lucky.

Mick.

I was thinking about emailing him again about that but now I have to contact him for the missing IR receiver, I just feel like im being a bother at this point. Even if its not my fault. :/

OK seriously now I think for sure I am cursed. someone must have put a Hex on me for sure. Took the Panther out for a spin, all works well except when I fire the cannon it shuts off. Fire one shot flash and recoil works but then it powers down. I then have to flip the ignition switch off and on again, when I do that it powers back up and runs fine but again i fire another shot and then after the firing cycle it shuts down again. Incase I wasn't clear the power is still on, the problem is that after it fires it goes into the power down cycle, engine wines down and the head light blinks.DON'T KNOW THE CAUSE....oh and one of the tow cable clips was broken, currently attempting to super glue it together.

Dam you're unlucky. Which just goes to show, no matter how good the trader they can't help it if something was wrong at the factory.

Although Dave checks the tanks before he sends them out.

Sorry you're not having a good time of it DD, you thought about taking up dress making. . . . runs and hides

Edit. The probable answer to your tank switching off is on page four, of this thread.
Thought I'd mention that in case you didn't read back.

Mick.
LOL yeah maybe dress making would be less stressful and my wife would appreciate it :haha:

As for the battery I was pretty sure the battery I used was fully charged but Ill fully charge a different one and try it out, hopefully its a easy fix. I also emailed Imex but their mail box is full  so I tried the Email for Erik, I hope that one goes through.
