Ok so the Torro King Tiger metal lower hull from rear edge to front edge metal part only is 335mm, the plastic bit in the front ahead of the metal floor is 5mm.

The Torro Jagdtiger metal lower hull from rear edge to front edge metal part only is 355mm, the plastic bit in front ahead of the metal floor is 6mm.

So Torro made the lower hull of the Jagdtiger exactly 20mm longer then the King Tiger.

The Torro King Tiger uses 90 track link pins for each track.

The Torro Jagdtiger uses 94 track link pins for each track.

If I measure the length of 4 track link pin holes center to center it comes out that the Jagdtiger tracks are exactly 30mm longer each then the King Tigers tracks.

Jagdtigers center drive sprocket to the center of its idler I get 370mm.

King Tigers center drive sprocket to the center of its idler I get 350mm.

So the Jagdtiger is 20mm longer center of drive sprocket to center of idler then the King Tiger.

Now please keep in mind both tanks have adjustable idlers but the track tension is set correct for both tanks.
The tracks do not touch the top of the first road wheel, only their teeth touch the 2nd half way up the teeth and the tracks are completely touching by the 3rd road wheel.

Anything else anyone needs please let me know.

Thats great thank you

I know that the engine deck is 7.5mm shorter than the king tiger so the rest must go on the fighting compartment

Thanks again Mr Jackalope

"You da man" Mr Jack , that fairly well confirms the 16mm scale extra length will do.
I am going to assume the 20 mm is due to the tensioner position as 4mm is easy to get on those from what I read.
With the extra 16 mm on the Casemate there is just the right amount of space for the middle drop of spare track that the later ones carried.
Thanks again for your assistance, your a star

I think Torro went with 20mm just cause it's a nice round number as opposed to 16mm.

Glad I could help!

Herman has your lower arrived yet? Have you checked the tracking number? What did it say? It went out 5 day priority.

Not yet mate, I like surprises.
If anything arrives at home for Herman, my girls ring me & tell me all about the delivery !
Its a 'thing' :)

I got one more day of Mr Mom, so if it arrives tomorrow, I will have to ring myself  :shifty:

Remember I sent it to you not Herman. ;)

Just checked and it left a transfer airport in Brisbane at 8:37am on the 27th. So it's in your neck of the woods.

Well, he/she aint here yet !
This is my last day/night as Mr Mum while shes away at a hockey champs, so I need to rebuild the house, burn the washing, hose the kids off and replace several bits of furniture :haha: :haha:

Got the rear doors done and mounted to the rear bulkhead of the casemate.
The hinges work a treat, and the doors stay put in any position.
Used dress making pins to anchor the door mounts and ensure they wont tear off any time soon.
Also made a start on the forward hatches.

Regretfully, it was a somber day in the Bix household.

Saying goodbye is never easy. Its these times you remember the little things that made you happy, and the moments that you will treasure forever......................

Dropping a child off at the airport, the hugs, the lingering look and wonder if you've done the right thing.

IVE GOT A KING TIGER LOWER, METAL GEARBOXES, SUSPENSION ARMS, IDLERS, EXHAUSTS, EXHAUST COVERS, AND....AANNNDDD
AN ADJUSTABLE TENSIONER...........
OF COURSE IVE DONE THE RIGHT THING

Child, say hello to your new familly. :haha: :haha:
Hes a great guy, and I promised him something worthy of his sacrifice .........
Shes a good kid, probly sounds a bit funny to you guys, but can work, great with other kids and is not a bad cook.

Thanks Mr Jack, you mate, are a legend

I'm glad you like it, it's just been sitting here collecting dust and dog fur.
