Also curious not only what the width is in the hull but also if whatever the height is to that back bracket is there clearance
at that height in the rest of the hull? (clearance from rotation motor etc) Thanks :)

If not a bother could you provide me the measurements of A-E in inches? It really helps pre-planning what will fit
and what won't :) Thanks!

Tao, measurements are as follows:

A = 2.66in (67.6mm)
B = 1.78in (45.2mm)
C = 3.90in (99.1mm)
D = 1.12in (28.5mm)
E = 7.25in (184.15mm)

The last figure is measured from back of the motor mount on the hull floor (i.e. around where the motor compartment bulkhead might go - which it where I assume you are looking to measure from).
I can see no reason why the battery cannot be fitted where I presently have speakers. In fact the Mato (3300mh) battery is about the same depth (lying flat) as the speakers you see and the Taigen turret motor unit sits comfortably above the left hand one.
Moreover, your Rx receiver, and any other electronics can sit easily on the forward end of the side rails (where there is a lot more headroom). In theory you can probably fit I 100mm X 50-80mm baffle box for your speaker and still room on the hull floor for a Tarr (or other) smoker. In fact if I do upgrade later this maybe the route I take. At the moment I'm contemplating the virtues of adding a Benedini TBS sound card to the Clark board - If I do I will certainly be looking to upgrade the speakers too.

Thank you for those measurements..very helpful! My goal is TBS/ FRS 8 speaker and TARR and possibly acoustic TARR which looks like it will all fit! :)

In terms of TBS and a good speaker..can't say enough of the difference! (IBU3 is very close sound wise too I hear)
I use TBS with BARC/DBC but people also run it though the Clark boards. The main thing is you will love the sounds!!

So it then looks like the speaker box can be at least 2.66 inches tall (placed center or rear) and clear anything on top?

I assume front side panels are a bit higher than the gears so any electronics mounted would clear top gear! Thanks:)
That would really help..putting battery on side panel as well as other electronics.

I think battery across back may be the best option. Battery/Tarr/Speaker/Electronics :)

Thanks for that - so it seems that for me the Benedini card is the way to go. The IBU3 look a top notch board but the price is a more than the Clark and TBS mini together (and then some) and having already got the Clark TK22 on this tank it makes sense for me to go this with the M36 at least (I am considering a IBU for my KT project however). I have read a lot of good things about the Benedini and they can apparently add more functionality as well as great engine sounds?

Yes, I think a speaker box around that size should fit fine, depending on what you decide to do regarding the turret motor/drive set up. Forward of the turret you do, as you point out, have more space simply because the hull is just a Sherman M4A3 (which Mato already have in their line up, and hence why they supply these M36B1's whith a wrongly place barrel lock).

There is also some clearance between the top of the gearboxes and the hull roof, not a lot, but enough for locating the main switch under the drivers hatch if you want to (I will be doing this at some point - Mato just leave the switch flopping around in the hull. The hull tub itself is small but it does have the advantage of more usauble space on the side rails because of the relatively tall design of the Sherman hull in this respect. Bottom line is I don't think you will have too much difficulty in doing what you suggest at all. :D

Thank you for the measurements! It does look like with the proper arranging all will fit!
The top of the bracket is 2.66" (A) is that height clear all along the hull-from turret motor etc?

I love the TBS for sound and ease of loading new sound sets or making them up plus smooth engine to movement and more.
Very simple to use.

Here is a great contact..Dan Crowley he knows everything TBS plus Clark and pretty much all the other
systems.

Have you run it yet with stock motors? I was planning on putting in Promax 480's but curious how it turns and moves as is?

2.6" clearance would be awesome but it looks like I would only need about 2 inches clearance from the floor for a speaker box for FRS 8. I got almost all of this into my StuG but the M36 has more height and also the space to put the battery across the back or on side panel so that helps.
