Cutting the wall have been on my mind as well, but I think the integrity of the hull would suffer, if I remove it...
And I think Tamiya is out of the question
It'll be a little rough...but if you grasp the concept ...I'm sure you will be able to refine it..

Only need to do very little modification to the mount and it will align just perfect, with the gunner periscope.
This thing, is the best idea ever! Thanks Alpha

No problem Arnie

...I can't take all of the credit...if Herman didn't use the Night vision gear on his ZuFuss...and I didn't get to see what was in the kit...the idea probably wouldn't have entered my mind

Looks like they hold the Machine gun to the shield

Well... You gave me the idea, even if it wasnt yours to begin with
And yes they fit on the tabs for the MG, but I havent found any reference anywhere, that something like this was used on the real thing... I'll keep them in the bits box

OK...I'll take all the credit

...ranking officers usually do

Don't think they are...from what I recall...I don't ever remember seeing an upper mounting...but I could be wrong

Yes, yes they do, but in this case, its correct.
Interesting project Mr DK, imagine fleets of Panthers & StuG's, perhaps E-75's running amok with daytime air cover
fitted with I.R NVG.............

As for the mounts for the MG shield, I have seen pics of M.G's through the penetration, as well as on the top edge of the shield, so those odd bits might be to enable the option.
I will try to find the pics.
