Awesome build. Enjoying the ribbing, too.

Re: Eric's HL M4A3
Worked on the elevation unit. Found center point and mounted motor under it. No wires to turret, so endless 360's are available. Need to adjust travel a little, have horizontal toward max elevation, would like a little depression. Alpha called it, battery box was in the way. Am in process of turning battery on it's side and rebuilding the box. Receiver now sits flat on floor next to battery. Looking for room for the speaker next.
Did do a systems check and all is well. Even the tracks clear the under hangs.

Very clever elevation motor mount there Eric....Mike will either be very proud..or put off by your progress
...Can't wait to see this painted

I would be very proud, Alpha, except that I already put that upside-down system on the Indiana Jones tank that I showed you, remember? Therefore, it's just plagiarism on his part. I think the only reasonable compensation on his part would be for him to send the whole thing to me.

I sorta knew that might be coming. What was it that Dad used to say? "Open mouth....insert foot."

UUUHHHHHHHHHHHH....don't recall seeing that...I think when you brought it over...the turret wasn't on it yetsassgrunt wrote:I would be very proud, Alpha, except that I already put that upside-down system on the Indiana Jones tank that I showed you, remember? Re: Eric's HL M4A3
For me, this is the most difficult and time consuming part of the build. I've been experimenting with "welding", hatch/hinge building and working on the counter weights. Love to see this with some paint, but there is still plenty on details to complete first.

Re: Eric's HL M4A3
I would agree with you there Eric...those tiny details are really time consuming...sometimes longer that it took to build the tank ...it's the same with the 1/35ths I'm currently doing....the major components get easy after awhile ...but the little things....
Nice work so far though...like your lamp guards

Re: Eric's HL M4A3
Great work! What did you use to make the light guards? looks like flattened brass rod or wire...
